It’s got nothing to do with perfection. The heart wants what the heart wants.

You are so one-sided Saba. I would not fall in bed with you. 😭

Rhea and Rishi weren't perfect. They showed basic decency and integrity. Dev and Maya did not.

With re: career. It's called earning a living. You know, for mundane things like food and clothing and shelter. And if she takes pride and pleasure in it, it ain't a sin.

Dev could've done something else. And that would go for a bored wife, too. You simply cannot make another person 100% responsible for your happiness. When both have interests outside marriage, it makes for a happier relationship.

I didn't find anything which would suggest Rishi was bad in bed. If he was, then it was up to the couple to talk about it and work it out. He was clearly trying, so is the suggestion that Maya was right in dumping him without even making a modicum of effort?

Yes! They were as perfect as they could be.

& No!

They can't be blamed for their not so better halfs' insecurities neither for their cheaterasses.

Simple.

Although I like the movie (especially because of the performances of the six main protagonists), I reproach Karan for the way he made the characters and the story...everybody was a touch too much and the story too contorted (sometimes too kinky, sometimes too melodramatic):

Dev = too cynical, too bitter, too hurt, too mean to kids

Rhea = too much concentrated on/invested in her job, the rest of the family too much being an "also-ran"

Maya = too unhappy, too suffering of not having a kid (except her kid-man Rishi), too messed up

Rishi = too much avoiding of taking Maya's unhappiness serious

Rishi's father = too much of a womanizer

Dev's mother = too easily taking Rhea's side

Nevertheless, the movie shows subjects worth to be discussed (not only the infidelity because they did try to find a way to keep living with their spouses). The movie explicitely shows that not marriage makes the life of a couple going, but to have a loving and caring partner at your side...and being a loving and caring partner yourself.

I think, no movie was at that time more discussed as KANK...and somehow still is...

(and I felt that SRK lost a lot of fans because of this movie...)

If your spouse is bad in bed you ask him to step up his game or buy yourself a dang vibrator instead of sleeping with another woman's husband. If things are that bad leave him and find men who aren't married. Also if you're going to cheat , you need to get rid of those HUGE ass boots because the last thing you need is more attention to yourself.

The career woman thing is tricky. She shouldn't have to deal with any more criticism than a man does for putting his job above his family. But as a spouse yes...if your marriage takes a backseat your husband could end up cheating on you .it's a no brainier. Not that it's a justification but that's what happens often.

It's nice that the movie brought up the issue of bad marriages and infidelity but both the couples had hardly talked it out like adults ( if I remember correctly )

Well, honestly, also men who think career is their life, have to face their spouses' discontent...so, I think, KANK (Karan) did a good work to show the (another) side. Unfortunately he didn't show Rhea's efforts to get more involved in family life after having reached her main goal (not a good move, imo). It was too late as Dev had fallen in love with someone who could connect to his shortcomings...

*facing discontent* is not the same as cheating.
