Main hi naam change karu, mein hi sindoor lagau and tum bas bachelor ka tag leke..

Just wanted to put it out here, that I as a viewer I felt that the above line in the jealousy scene of today, subtly also raised another topic. That society has this obsession with women to "look married" while men walk scot free. The way, someone flirted (borderline harassed🤢) Shaurya because he looked "available" as he had nothing on him to show the world he is married but Anokhi is all decked up as someone's wife. All the signs of marriage are a woman's choice, but I feel women always have undue pressure on them to look married.

I don't know if this was the intention of that line or not, but if it was, kudos to them for bringing it up. Because to me it did feel like a it was put there on purpose. Or maybe I am overthinking it as already a lot of topics on misogyny and patriarchy were going around.

The execution was not a 100% but atleast someone in mainstream TV spoke about it or made someone think about it. Hopefully more to follow?

Great point you brought out.

Just to mention. I started putting sindoor and ring after marriage but my husband said he is not comfortable with a ring.

Now I wear none as I believe you do not need a symbol to say you are married. How you carry yourself is what is important.

I am the free spirit type, you could say black sheep of the family. But slowly everyone has come to terms with the way I look, dress etc. No comments from inlaws.

Sometimes the best thing to do is show your presence through your actions and not by fighting. It takes too much energy.

Of course everything is not perfect and will never be...

Oh lovely thought !

I do the same..not that I expect anyone to change ..I live and let live and expect the same from others..I have been given that privilege by my husband to do whatever 😆

I chose not to wear sindoor mangalsutra etc..my husband can't wear any jewellery either.. ..i don't like sindoor n stuff...no offense to those who do. Once , a lady in passport office mistook me for unmarried n she remarked that I am not wearing any sindoor etc , how will she know 😆 I just felt good , it's a compliment for me ...nobody in my social circle wear these things....none I remember.

Indeed it was . I personally felt for a person ,later about whom I came to know that he's married but loved female attention/flirted in the classroom . I loved the subtlety mixed substantiality of dialogues of the show . Even when she was being kidnapped , and with her now husband . She is a fiesty little 20 years old ,who I m astonished to watch .

This maturity despite her young age comes from the fact she was considered a second rate citizen in her house and had to work very hard to be able to study. That is real education indeed.

Fantastic topic!

And it definitely needed a full fledged dealing it had scope too... But I am glad they did bring it out subtly. I was quite annoyed in the past when Kanchan said once a man puts sindoor on woman's forhead its meant to be forever and woman is drilled to believe that the duo are married and even more so because someone strong like Anokhi abided in parallel made Kanchan's words to be true.

Bu i guess in today's day, most woman consider this as personal choice and husband's too don't focus much on it except for an ITV world of course 😆 and that's how audience know ki if lead is married or not .. Like every single day even my mom does not wear them.. But pressure is mostly during gatherings and functions maybe... Many do understand origin of such rituals dates back in time for patriarchal reasons.

But I would have loved to see Anokhi raising this issue and Shaurya getting some simple chain for himself or some kind of gesture to show that they will be equal even while committing here... As pressure and choice could be Anokhi's to wear these symbols...

The only tv show I remember bringing up this sindoor thing explicitly was Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke and it had family bawal when 21 year-old married girl refused to wear sindoor to her college 😆 but makers had different intention altogether.. So Chuck that.. But topic was raised fairly..
