Singers , Cameraman ,scriptwriters are paid so less compared to actors.

Actors are the most overpaid people.. They should be happy with the amount of money they make... We should be paying our doctors, nurses ,teachers and scientists more money..

Nobody knows who is actually really the highest paid. It's not like we get to see their paychecks. And anyway, I'm sure it fluctuates based on which project it is. Big budget movies can afford to pay more. Small budget movies try to entice them to work for a profit percent instead. Kareena made a big deal back in the day about how she was getting a profit percent for Heroine and then it came and flopped which is what happens to 95% of female centric movies anyway.

You can kind of tell by the taxes though that also includes non film income. Kangana unlike other actress has never landed in the top 10 tax paying actors even when she had a lot of endorsements. Kanga's claims of her big salary and huge budget always precede her films and when they flop the reported budgets become far smaller, smaller in some cases than her biggest ever claimed salary. 😆

But how can you compare a niche, sad film about an acid attack to the historical epic Ramayana? People will throng to watch the latter, but not really the former.

I don't think she got paid more than 4-5 crores for Chhapaak. And this Ramayana movie will definitely open at 15-20 crore, so asking for 12 crore is definitely justified as there are not many actresses who can take this role up. Deepika acts decently + looks beautiful + is the no.1 actress. No better casting, so of course she should ask for a good price.

I feel Deepika should charge even more, like 20 crore and Samantha around 15 crore.
