Deepika and Samantha make a pitch against pay disparity

Deepika Padukone and Samantha Akkineni are making a pitch for equal pay. They are the highest-paid actresses in their respective fields, but their pay is much less than the A-list male lead actors in a movie.

These actresses have been asking for a higher paycheck, even if still less than the heroes. Deepika Padukone has asked for Rs. 12 crore for her role in and as “Sita: The Incarnation,” a multi-lingual film directed by Alaukik Desai that narrates “Ramayana” from Sita’s perspective and is written by K.V. Vijayendra “Bahubali” Prasad, while Samantha Akkineni, after “The Family Man 2,” has been offered Rs. 8 crore by Netflix for the main role in a trilingual web series.

No pay parity yet, but the two actresses sure want to head that way.

It depends on the BO success. There have been female leads in the past where they have been paid more than their male counterpart.

They dont give a shit about fair pay . They will support anything that suits their agenda... Did Deepika pay Vikrant the same money as her for Chappak ?

Singers , Cameraman ,scriptwriters are paid so less compared to actors.

Actors are the most overpaid people.. They should be happy with the amount of money they make... We should be paying our doctors, nurses ,teachers and scientists more money..

Deepika, Kareena and Kangu have been planting articles about being the highest paid for like 10 years now. It's nothing new.

Nobody knows who is actually really the highest paid. It's not like we get to see their paychecks. And anyway, I'm sure it fluctuates based on which project it is. Big budget movies can afford to pay more. Small budget movies try to entice them to work for a profit percent instead. Kareena made a big deal back in the day about how she was getting a profit percent for Heroine and then it came and flopped which is what happens to 95% of female centric movies anyway.

Wait... is Samantha copying Deepika's sartorial choices???

Deepika should have been paid more than Ranveer and Shahid for Padmavat if not.
