PART 5:

Raavi was feeling restless. She doesn’t know what is going to happen now. Sitting idle in the bridal room, she prayed god to not let this marriage happen at any cost. She doesn’t want her or Dev to suffer for the whole lifetime. Yeah, that girl Rishita too. She face palmed for forgetting about her again. Well, she came to know her existence only today, but it seems Dev forgot about her even though they love each other for a long time now. Actually, it’s been two years now. Shiva narrated their love story while coming in the auto. Shiva!

She felt butterflies in her stomach thinking about him. Why she is feeling suddenly different about him comparing yesterday? He is still the same – hot and handsome! What the…? Yes, it’s not like that he suddenly changed into some attractive champ overnight. He always looks dashing. Not only him, the whole pandya nivas is filled with handsome hunks as per the gossip group of Somnath. Girls are standing in queue to get marry into that family. Pandya brothers are quite popular. But, they are just fan girls with silly love assumptions. OMG! She too assumed Dev loving her. Is she too one of them? Is that why she could easily move on from Dev’s heart break like moving on from a K-drama crush? Maybe, yes. If she had truly loved Dev, she would be hanging from the fan above now. But, she is sitting cool praying god to stop this marriage somehow and escape her from the lifelong blame from Dev and Rishita.

She looked up at the fan and shivered. Oh no, from what she had heard from Shiva in the auto, this Rishita seems to be a passionate one. What if she does something crazy? She got terrified thinking about it. She could not forgive herself if anything like that happens just because of her carelessness.

She quickly called Shiva and he cut the call. Why is he not attending her call? She called again and he cut that too. Can’t he even give her an update? She thought they are together in this so called ‘marriage masterplan’. She called once more and he cut that down too. She got angry now. It’s not like she is dying to talk with him. She simply needs to get some information about Rishita’s welfare. She called him for the fourth time and the outcome is same. She is at the Peak of Anger Mountain and ready to kill Shiva if he is right in front of her now. In the event that the call goes unanswered, she could endure. But, he is cutting her call delibrately. If he is able to cut the call, then why doesn’t he just attend for few seconds and save her from this restlessness. She decided to call him for the last time and if he doesn’t answer then she is going to block his number forever. She made the call and it got cut too, but with a message. She opened it and her jaw dropped.

‘If you call me one more time, I will block your number.’

Wow, our thought matches. Before analyzing why she is giggling on this insult, she got another message.

‘You don’t want to get rejected and blocked on the same day. Do you? :P’

She gasped. She could not believe his audacity. He is not a human at all. Doesn’t he feel any sympathy towards her? How could he send me a tongue out smiley or any other smiley for that matter? Maybe she is not looking pity enough. After all, she is the most beautiful girl in the whole somnath as rightly said by Shiva smiling widely at her. She blushed at the memory.

She ran and stood before the mirror. She gasped. This is the first time she is looking at her reflection after the fiasco. OMG! She looks horrible. Her hair is a total mess from all those shawl wrappings over her head and her clothes are untidy because unlike the movie heroines who comfortably fall over the bed, she fell in the mud floor. One of her necklace is missing too. If she had any little hope for mausi sparing her life on stoping this marriage, she lost it all now. Her mausi is very fond of jewels and anything materialistic. She is definetly not going to forgive Raavi for losing a valuable jewel. Where she had lost it? Is it the auto or behind the Pandya house? She almost called Shiva to ask him to check around his home, but stopped herself since she doesn’t want to take risk of him blocking her. She knows very well how adamant he can be. And also, she really needs to sort out her priorities.

This day is the worst day in her life – need to stop a marriage and after that look for a necklace too. She frowned at the thought and looked back at the sorry figure standing in front. The reflection is looking like someone who has not slept for days. If Dev sees her now, he will surely faint, but in fear. Where is her water bottle again? She looked around and could not find it. Shiva stole that too?

‘What else he steel from you, Raavi?’ her heart asked teasingly.

‘Her brain. She too became fool like him now’ her mind snapped.

Her thoughts are interrupted by drum sounds. Who is playing drums cheerfully when she is drowning in self pity?

‘Who else? It must be that Shiva, the brain thief!’ her mind murmured.

Before her heart start fighting with her mind, she peaked through the window. Her mind started dancing with joy, while the heart pouted. It is Shiva only and he is dancing with his family joyfully. She could not help but roll her eyes. Here comes the long awaited, but currently unwanted bharat. Her eyes focused on how gracefully Shiva dances. For god sake, come to senses Raavi. He is really a brain thief.

What happened to the idiot? He is enjoying like nothing happened for the last two hours. She is dying here to get any update from him, but he is dancing happily like it’s his own marriage. It’s all because of her stupid heart that she believed maybe he really do cares for her. She want to bang her hand against the window door for trusting his words, but only thing stopped her is that it is a glass door and she doesn’t want to give any more reasons to her mausi for killing her.

She turned around angrily and looked into the room. If she sees his merry face for few more minutes, she may even get convince that it all happened in her head only. OMG! What if it has really happened inside her head or it’s a nightmare? There is a possibility. She was more excited about her marriage and hence could not sleep well last night. She woke up early too and got ready before three hours itself. Maybe, she dozed off waiting for the bharat?

Wow! That was a very solid dream then. She sighed and turned around happily. Her tiny smile turned into a big frown once her eyes looked at Shiva. She realized with a fright that she could never be able to see Shiva like before. Her perception on him had changed upside down over a single dream. Not any dream, Nightmare! For some unknown reason, she doesn’t want him to be her ‘devar’ anymore. Her frown deepened. She felt bad for being disloyal to Dev. Maybe, she should move out with Dev to stay away from Shiva. No way! She loves the Pandya family dearly and being a part of it is her dream from childhood. She could not leave her lifelong dream for a few minutes of nightmare. She should just start ignoring him the way he is doing so far for years now….

Her thoughts halted abruptly when Shiva looked up and gave her a big smile. The same enchanting one which he gave her while holding her close in her possible nightmare. Oh no… she is sure now. It is definitely not a dream at all. For some reason, she felt glad at this conclusion. She shook her head on her stupidity and looked up at Dev. One look at him told how much he is suffering now. Don’t worry, Dev! After all, he is her best friend and she would save Dev by crook or hook. With a determined mindset, she quickly ran towards the restroom and washed her face. She fixed her hair, cleaned her lehenga and become pretty back again in just a matter of two minutes. She is very proud of herself. Instead of Raavi, they should have named her ‘Maggie’. She giggled at her own joke.

‘See, I told you.’ her mind stated.

‘Oh please, her jokes are always dumb’, her heart snapped.

She is too nervous to acknowledge the insult and hence, sprinted towards the entrance. They were all dancing happily together, but stopped on seeing her. Her family who were busily welcoming the groom family shook their heads disapprovingly at her. Everyone attention are at her now and she hated the spotlight for once in her lifetime. How is she going to talk privately with Shiva in this attentive crowd? But, she has to somehow get an update from him otherwise she will go mad for sure. She looked at the dhol and got an idea. Time for Raavi's nautanki...

“Why did you guys stop the music?” she acted cheerful.

“Even the bride should dance, right? Come on. Play the music!” she declared and took the dhol. She put the dhol on herself and started playing it. She smiled widely and went near Pandya family asking them to continue dancing. They all gave her a curious look. She needs to divert them. She removed the dhol and pulled Gaumbi, Krish and Dhara to dance. Then everybody started dancing without any care. She then pulled Shiva near to her and shouted for others to hear “Hey, why are you simply standing there? Your brother’s wedding won’t happen again and again.”

He simply stared at her with a questioning look.

“Come on, dance with your brand new Sister-in-law” she winked at him.
