Ahaan is clearly a poor judge of character. I understand he loves his best friend but doesn't he smell a rat. All these weird incidents and he doesn't even bother to speculate?
He's doing this because he's angry with himself for being in love with Ishqi, because he feels it's actually him who broke Mayank's marriage and family, by somehow giving Ishqi hints that he loves her. Plus Dadi's silver tongue made things worse.
Ugh... More than his overdue repenting, I don't expect MLs on Gul's show to do, I want to see him realize that there's a world out there where things don't happen the way he expects or believe them to. He needs to get his head out of the sand.
Even Rhea can see that Ahaan's going overboard but her personality isn't strong enough to do something about it. Kartik's words are falling on deaf ears and even if he doesn't know the truth he still trusts that Ishqi did it for a valid reason and that she has every right to do so.
Ahaan might send the police away but only because he wants to be mahaan and probably spare Maasi the pain that he thinks the 'selfish' Ishqi caused her. Ugh.
And who is he to take revenge? This doesn't affect him personally and I frankly don't see even 1% of the affection he has for Mayank being reciprocated by that creep. He's doing this because he is angry with himself and his pride and ego won't let him admit it. So acting mahaan is his way out because he knows deep down that even if she decided to call off the wedding she's not wrong. From his perspective, she chose not to be married to one person while loving another, and he knows or should know that this is what being principled means, because she managed to choose both love and give respect to the institution of marriage rather than making a mockery of it.
