Actress Prachi Singh, who is currently seen playing Manjuri, also known as Munni, in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, believes that today's entertainment industry offers more opportunities than ever before. While the number of platforms has increased significantly, she also feels that the competition has become equally intense, making consistency and patience just as important as talent.

Sharing her thoughts on the changing landscape of the entertainment industry, Prachi said that actors today have many more avenues to showcase their talent compared to the past.

She said, "Today's entertainment industry offers more opportunities than ever before. As actors, we have platforms like television, films, OTT, music videos, reality shows, short films, vertical content, and even social media-driven shows to showcase our talent. That's definitely a positive change."

According to Prachi, the expansion of platforms has created more space for actors to explore different kinds of work and reach diverse audiences.

However, she also pointed out that the increase in opportunities has been accompanied by a sharp rise in the number of aspiring actors entering the industry.

Speaking about the competition, Prachi said it has become much tougher than before because more talented people are trying to build careers in acting.

She explained, "The number of aspiring actors has also grown significantly, which makes the competition much tougher. Talent is essential, but consistency, patience, professionalism, and being open to different kinds of work are equally important. Every platform has its own audience and value, so I don't believe any medium is bigger or smaller than another."

Prachi believes that while talent remains important, qualities like professionalism, patience and the willingness to work across different platforms play an equally significant role in building a career.

She also stressed that every medium deserves equal respect because each one has its own audience and importance.

Like many actors, Prachi acknowledged that periods without work are also a reality of the profession.

She believes such phases should be used productively instead of becoming a reason to lose hope.

Talking about dealing with dry spells, she said, "There may be phases when actors don't have work, and that's a part of this profession. During those periods, it's important to keep learning, improving your craft, and staying prepared because the right opportunity can come at any time. I believe that if you stay dedicated and keep evolving, good work eventually finds you."

According to Prachi, every actor experiences ups and downs, but staying prepared and continuously working on one's skills can make a difference when new opportunities arrive.

She feels that dedication and personal growth eventually lead to meaningful work.

Prachi also disagrees with the common belief that opportunities in the entertainment industry have reduced over the years.

Instead, she believes the real challenge lies in the growing number of talented individuals competing for those opportunities.

Sharing her perspective, she said, "There are more platforms and more kinds of content being created today than ever before. However, there are also many more talented actors entering the industry, so naturally the competition has become much stronger. I think it's less about a lack of opportunities and more about the demand and supply of talent."

For Prachi, the issue is not the availability of work but the increasing competition due to the large number of actors entering the profession.

She feels the entertainment industry continues to expand, creating new content across multiple platforms.

During the conversation, Prachi was also asked about the popular joke that every second person in the gym wants to become an actor.

Responding with a smile, she explained that while physical fitness is important, acting requires much more than appearance.

She said, "People say it because the entertainment industry attracts so many dreamers, and many aspiring actors do spend time in the gym to stay fit. But acting is much more than looking good or having a fit physique. A good physique might get someone's attention, but it's your craft and dedication that help you build a lasting career."

Prachi believes that fitness may help someone make a good first impression, but a successful acting career depends on talent, hard work and continuous dedication.

She emphasised that craft remains the most important aspect of an actor's journey.

The actress also shared her opinion on whether actors should have an alternative career or another source of income alongside acting.

Rather than viewing it as a backup plan, Prachi considers it a practical decision that provides financial stability.

Speaking about this, she said, "Having an alternative career or another source of income isn't a sign of giving up, it's about being practical and financially secure. An alternative career should support your dreams, not replace them. I believe having stability can actually help an actor make better creative choices without constantly worrying about financial pressure."

According to Prachi, financial security allows actors to focus more on meaningful creative decisions instead of constantly worrying about income.

She believes that having another source of earnings should complement an actor's ambitions rather than replace them.

Currently seen as Manjuri, popularly known as Munni, in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, Prachi Singh continues to balance her acting career while sharing practical insights about the realities of working in the entertainment industry. Through her experience, she believes that opportunities continue to exist for those who remain patient, dedicated and committed to improving themselves.
