I think it's just another case of insecurities getting the better of her and losing herself in that. This industry is not for everyone. Someone like Vidya likely had a much stronger support system and she was mentally much stronger to let go of those comments. Similar with Anushka. PC was also really insecure but mentally has a killer attitude. When all of these women stopped giving a damn about the industry and did what they believed in, it worked... nothing to lose type. In Pari's case, I don't think she has that mental strength, so I don't anticipate any comebacks. Maybe she can try something on OTT.
There was also some bad luck with movies signed and shelved for which she gave away her dates. She didn't do Piku and Udta Punjab I think because KJo had signed her for a movie with Ranbir back then which he never made anyways. Someone just 2-3 years old in the industry would obviously have jumped at that chance. Knowing KJo, I wouldn't be surprised if he purposefully blocked her dates privately since she was rising at the time.
I haven't watched TGOTT, or Saina, or Sandeep Pinky but I saw good reviews for Sandeep Pinky with tough critics. YRF seems to have just dumped the film and killed it with the delays. Who is going to watch anything in theaters in today's time especially with cases rising like crazy in India... Maharashtra is staring at another lockdown.

and she cannot always be the victim..vidya faced worst criticism on weight and she didn't lose her perspective or acting chops..in fact she totally played to the T and gave brilliant performances..more than anything..parineeti's own insecurities and pretentious self killed her career and her craft..at the end she gained all the weight back and also lost the craft..a total lost case
Have seen the original but not the Hindi version. If sheâs got good reviews sheâs got good reviews. Her being the weakest link wonât take away from that unless critics specifically mention âweakest link.â Otherwise itâs just a fanâs opinion.
Yes her own insecurities killed her career potential, I agree with that. But that doesnât mean that Bollywood didnât press and magnify those insecurities. And yes Vidya handled the weight issues and trolling better. But Vidya also knew she wasnât competing for roles against a Ranveer, Ranbir, Varun, etc. She wasnât competing for box office success against an Alia, Shraddha, Deepika etc. Parineeti still was at that time and hence took the weight issues in an extreme manner. Not defending the way she handled it. Like I said above, she always brought more attention to her weight struggles than was necessary and gave stupid quotes. But my point was, I donât think Vidya and her situation are entirely comparable. So as such, I think Vidya was able to focus on her acting and be herself while Parineeti couldnât. She made mistakes, bad decisions, and obviously took some wrong advice (thinking filmy acting is necessary đ). But thatâs why actors have PR teams to make a lot of decisions for them and hers obviously sucked. But some of that might fall onto YRF as well.
My bottom line, a lot of what happened to her career is her own fault, but a lot of it also isnât.
When parineeti started out her career, I thought she was million times better than Alia bhatt. I still think parineeti is the better actor than Alia but she lost her confidence and excitement she had at the beginning of her career. Maybe she got insecure due to the overhyped of the no talent starkids. She seems lost, not acting and no screen presence or fire in her eyes anymore

I disagree with you because parineeti had a better support system than vidya when vidya was was dealing with weight problems and films shelved and etc. vidya is strong woman. Of course now that vidya is married to a producer she has a stronger system. But earlier vidya went through much worst experience with bad styling articles, fat shaming, being dropped from movies, shelved movies and etc, still managed to come out strong. I know vidyaâs family has money though. Parineeti had her sister pc, family support, her boyfriend is rumored to be the director of yash raj movies and etc. Did parineeti went through auditions for her first movie? All I remember her saying was Rani told her to act and join movies. Vidya went through several months of auditioning before being signed for her first movie. So I donât like the vidya and parineeti comparison. I am sorry to say parineeti became insecure because of her competition being served movies on a platter and she was not getting chances, she became insecure and lost weight. She need to build herself up and become confident. I like kjo but thatâs sad if what you wrote is true about kjo blocking her dates to not sign movies so Alia can be ahead in competition. I still think dp is the better choice for piku because of the pairing mainly. I was reading article that priyanka chopra was being considered for udta Punjab not sure what happened, priyanka was the first choice for bharat as well, she turned it down. Parineeti was one of the options director was thinking about for udta Punjab but I thought both Kareena and Alia was great in this movie so great choice at the end.
God knows what happened. All her contemporaries went on to be more successful. I don't think she is that bad. Meri Pyari Bindu has managed to earn a very niche cult following. Other movies have been awful. When was the last time she was good onscreen?
to begin with she was actually good actress. But success of any films is solely based on the ability to select best scripts from what is offered to you.
Lobbying for high budget films help you put on the map and gets you Into the commercial space but to be successful you need to have the ability to filter out crap roles .
Thatâs the single difference between successful and unsuccessful actors . Being able to act is overrated to achieve success .it figures somewhere down the line and not âup there on topâ.
Her break was her biggest mistake. She should've continued to lose weight gradually since that was where her mind was set like Sonakshi, Bhumi and Alia while doing films. Her problem was that she wanted to be "glamourous" and "hot" which she is not. She didn't have to be. And people like Sonam and Alia who repeatedly commented on her dressing, fashion, 'look like from some pind', etc. obviously didn't help. Her low self-esteem was easily torn.
Meh she is done and dusted!
I think Parineeti has managed to get herself another couple of years. The movies may not do well commercially but SAPF has good reviews (her especially). So she's bought herself some time.
Didn't Parineeti credit Aditya Roy Kapur for her weight loss - she said on KWK episode that ARK pushed her to shed weight. I also remember him talking about her weight during the making of Daawat-e-Ishq. And ofcourse he never gets tired of talking about his own fitness and weight insecurities.
This obsession of modern day actors with weight loss is what took Pari down. You start putting your acting skills and script reading as secondary because you are so obsessed with losing those few extra pounds - they don't realize that when you retire, people will remember your roles and characters, not your abs
Look at Disha Patani - she was loved in her small yet important role in MSD movie. Then she met people like Tiger and ARK and got into that insane fitness regime. Now she has turned into a female version of Tiger - all style, no substance.
