Actually “business sense” is used as an excuse to keep taking nepos (when they are usually taken just because the nepos parents are friends with the producer) but taking a TV star who is already popular would actually make perfect business sense, as said tv star’s fans would all come to watch the film...

They’re also bound by contracts, so by the time the show ends they age themselves by at least 10 years. Hina Khan even now is recognised more as Akshara. Shweta Tiwari aged herself to 60 and since then got mature roles only.

Once you break your contract with big PH to work in movies it is difficult to find yourself back in to TV industry. If you become a hit, well and good but if you flop then starting from scratch.

More then being ignored they arrive too late and with the bahu/damaad image which BW don’t want to invest in.

I guess that’s why most TV stars have now started with 1 year contract only. Earlier it used to be like 3 years or more.
