All she did was call these people gay throughout the movie

Its the same role she did in Ram Lakhan and host of other movies, though can't blame her as bollywood had not other types of roles for 40 plus actresses at those times

If someone can show me even one scene of Rakhi where she has 'emoted' something, I'd give her all the awards from my personal list. 🤣 She is the worst actress ever in kinda all category, starting from her movies during 70s. Sorry.

Farida Jalaal on the other hand, has impeccable expressions. You can cry with her, laugh with her, her comic timing is so apt. No comparison at all.

The only role where Rakhi was good as an actress was in Subha Mohorot. I give her that. But acting was hardly required there. There also Sharmila Tagore overshadowed her. But she was also fine.

🤣🤣this movie is most remembered for Rakhi's line: Mere bete aayenge, mere Karan Arjun aayenge. Zameen ki chaati phad ke aayenge, aasman ka seena cheer ke aayenge"

This lady’s acting is always the same! I never seen her smiling always that sad dull face wali role!

Its like in every movie she is looking for Karan Arjun!

Probably the stupid story of the film overshadowed her good performance 😂

I agree with you that Farida Jalal never got the recognition she deserved. She was so bubbly and sassy and could make the most boring movies look lively. I loved her Aradhana ,Kaala Sona and Khushboo before she was relegated to friend and sister roles. Her seductress role in Mahal was the only time she came across as unbelievable.

But Rakhi did quite a good job in Reshma aur Shera as the teenage bride who loses her husband on her wedding day. Loved her confrontation with Amitabh. But it was a minor role and considering that she was sharing screen with Waheeda Rahman she deserves some credit.

Obviously. Bollywood was hung-up on the hero/heroine formula until then and still is.
