Damn there are too many RAJs on the list 😆

The Raj from Bachna ae Haseeno crosses over to the creep territory. What he did to Bips was unforgivable. In Badrinath Alia is more selfish than Varun who is nothing but an ignorant lout. To be fair Alia is sincerely sorry for her actions. Kriti from Shaadi mein zaroor aana did something similar and was not at all sorry until she discovered that her ex-fiance is suddenly in a powerful position and she might need him.

Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2 : Wanted to catch the rapist at all cost not to serve any justice, but to feed her ego.

Minal in Pink : First agreed to have sex with the guy, then in the middle changed her decision after setting him in mood. He forced her a little bit thinking that she's being shy, and for that she ends up smashing his head with a bottle which could've killed him.

Sehmat in Raazi : Killed all her in-laws in cold blood who loved her unconditionally despite being an Indian.

Rani in Queen : Rejected her fiance's apology despite all his pleadings, only because he got nervous just before his marriage and called off the wedding. Probably thought that she has a shot with that French chef she met in Amsterdam, because she ended up liking the lifestyle of those foreigners.

Radha in Mother India : Killed his son so that she could become a messiah for the village. Could've easily shot him in the leg instead of aiming just to kill.

Vidya in Kahaani : Made the whole police force of Kolkata run like buffaloes only to serve her revenge.

DJ and his friends in Rang De Basanti : Killed an innocent man on his morning walk only because he called their friend a nausikhiya pilot which could very well be the truth. They had no proof of the Minister being corrupt.

Tina in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai : Asking your eight year old daughter to fulfill her last wish which could be almost impossible. Imagine the trauma little Anjali could've suffered if she failed in uniting Rahul and Anjali? Not being able to fulfill the last wish of her mother whom she never met and knew in person? Would've made her feel like an absolute failure as a daughter to her mother.

Here’s a few controversial ones:

. Geet in Jab We Met- I love the film but the way Geet just randomly ran away without leaving so much as a note was pretty selfish... especially considering she had an elderly grandfather at home! And then she stays completely out of touch with them for nine months like wtf 😶

I get that she didn’t want to go back home as that would cause the family to get defamed but not even calling or sending a letter to explain she’s ok I mean seriously 🤦🏽‍♀️

. All three main characters in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai- Tina knows Anjali likes Rahul but dated and married him anyway without ever telling him she knew Anjali liked him. Then when she’s dying she tells her daughter to get Rahul and Anjali together without thinking that Anjali may already be married herself!

Anjali gets engaged to Aman though she doesn’t love him, then suddenly ditches him for Rahul at the mandap.

Rahul forgets all about his “best friend” Anjali literally as soon as she moves back to her hometown, never trying to contact her even once. Even after Tina dies Rahul never bothers about Anjali...

Then when he meets her again by accident (or so he thinks) Rahul starts being attracted to her (because she looks feminine now 😒) and it basically looked to me like he’s only coming to her now because he just needs an extra pair of hands to raise his daughter and he knows Anjali will come running if he calls her 😒...

And basically Rahul never saw Anjali as anything more than a friend right from the beginning till the end, Tina was the one he loved and Anjali just became somewhat attractive and “convenient” to him in the second half of the movie.

. Ayan from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil- I don’t think this even requires an explanation 🤷🏽‍♀️

. Dev and Maya in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna- There was nothing wrong with either of their partners, they were the problematic ones in their respective marriages, even before the affair. Dev was especially horrible with how he treated his innocent son... the fact that even his mom chose to stay with Ria rather than him says it all!

I really don’t know how or why we were supposed to sympathise with Dev or Maya (especially Dev 😷)

. Bittu in Band Baaja Baraat- Sleeps with Shruti then humiliates and discards her from his life. Then when Shruti finally moves on, gets a better guy and has no interest in being with him, Bittu uses horrible methods to break her new relationship and force his way back into her life 😷 (and we were supposed to find that shit funny 😷😷)

I don't think Tina from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is selfish. It's not her fault that Anjali is in love with Rahul. Why should she give up her bf who loves her passionately? She has compassion towards Anjali. Her giving Rahul up would have made her character look ridiculously self-sacrificing, crossing over to the TV serial territory. Putting such a huge pressure on her daughter however was ridiculous and contrived.

Raj from DDLJ. Stayed with Kuljit and Preeti. Backstabbed the whole family. What he did to Preeti was especially awful.

Never thought Bittu loved Shruti. He seemed more motivated about keeping the business going and his love was very convenient.

In KANK Dev and Maya are not projected as good people tho. They were shown to be selfish and in the wrong. Their spouses were shown positively instead.

Yeah exactly Bittu was a selfish user to the core. Though I disagree about Dev and Maya, I think we were supposed to sympathise with them to some extent which was impossible for me, especially in Dev’s case
