The kids actually stayed with them.. like in a hostel-ish way, at least in the beginnings.. that's why the "raised" and not raised.. lol

Even if he was really satisfied with the casting, that doesn't mean other people too have to be satisfied with it. Because how we see ourselves and how others see us could be very different. Maybe Anand was happy that a handsome man like Hrithik was portraying him on screen. Something which isn't in real. Whatever be it, Hrithik didn't look the part. He had to be turned brown to look poor. He made that up with his performance, but still the casting wasn't top notch or perfect.

Apparently Akshay was eyeing the script/story too.. but in the end Anand, yes Anand himself chose/decided to go with Madhu Matena and HR!

One can always mould themselves into characters and alter their looks accordingly. For example, Hrithik did many looks for Dhoom 2, nobody mocked him for it. In fact he got a lot of praise.

You can find Ash miscast in Jodhaa Akbar, I have no issues lol. It's a matter of personal preference.

If the makeup looked amateurish and fake, that was a bad makeup artist - not bad casting. The tan wasn’t a “statement” about class or wealth, it was necessary because Anand sold pappad on the streets under the hot sun to make ends meet in real life and in the movie - a full 100% white European would have a tan in the same situation.

You seem to have misunderstood, I didn’t say Aish was miscast at all - and certainly never said she was miscast because the people who did her makeup and costume altered her appearance to make her look more authentic, LOL.

It was a great story spoilt by miscasting of the lead. HR’s acting was jarring as was the brown face..Rest of the cast was good

That's interesting, because I always wondered during Super 30 release, that Hrithik is doing a type of film which normally Akshay would've done.😆
