That's what most products of nepotism don't understand today, or enablers like Karan Johar.
They didn't have to shove Karishma down our throats. She was talented. She could act (Fiza, Zubeida); she had spunk and personality, and she didn't have to go through 100 cosmetic procedures to look acceptable. She wasn't a poor speaker either.
Few people have issues with Karishma, Kareena, and Raveena, or Sanjay and Sunny because they didn't look out of place. All were decent actors who could up the ante when required. They had a unique personality and weren't alike each other.
Today's Bollywood kids even speak like each other, they act like each other, and even look like they've been cut from the same marble.
Nepotism isn't a problem as long as you let them do their own bit. Today's nepotism is about creating a corporate product and is about pushing untalented folks into the limelight. People like Saif, Abshishek, and Arjun are blatant examples of nepotism. Yet, none of them went to become stars. They continue to get jobs, but they're not even in the conversation of bonafide stars. That's the perk of being a son of well known Bollywood people. People won't mind that.
It's when you push someone as mediocre as Alia Bhatt as the Meena Kumari of today, that's where the problem arises.
The biggest stars in the history of Bollywood: Dilip Saab, Rajesh Khanna, Amit Ji, Salman, Shahrukh, and Aamir, you'd only find two insiders. When you look at actresses like Madhubala, Waheeda Rahman, Rekha, Hema Malini, Sadhana, Sridevi, and Madhuri, there are none.
Even today, you have Deepika and Katrina. There's Akshay and Ayushmann.
Nobody cared that HR was a son of a famous actor and director because he rose organically.
When you try and force someone into a narrative, that's where the whole thing blows up.
I would rather have no nepo kid then.

Wow what a refreshingly sensible post!

BW nepo kids should learn from Raveena. Better looking, better actress and definitely better dancer.
Better looks and actress may be but dancer ?? nope. Karishma went toe to toe with Madhuri in DTPH

I disagree .
Karishma is a weak dancer.
I love this movie n song so much😆
Karishma had a really striking presence during her peak
Omo, this song used to be my favorite - Time to download it and go back to fall in love!
"Fizaaaaaaaaaaa...."
I agree with some posters here ....
Karishma >>>>>>>>>>> Kareena!
Look wise, dance wise and even acting wise she's much better than her sister. Her screen presence is everything!
Her work pretty versatile too even for short amount!
Her charm here - <3!
