He is making it sound as if Alia and Ranbir are the epitome of acting today! Legends or something- boons to Bollywood! Yeh dono na ho to film hi na ban paye!

Mr. Balki, there are quite a lot of actors better than both of them in their generation as well as the senior generation who can still beat them hollow. Bollywood, regional cinema, off beat or parallel cinema and even on TV. You have yourself worked with few of them.

People overhyping Ranbir and Alia in this manner, calling them De Niro and Meryl Streep are one of the reasons why most of the people around me at least get put off by them.

😆 Nothing against them, but Balki has worked with some of the finest actors in his films and not even worked with Alia/Ranbir, has he? Alia did a film with Gauri Shinde. This sounds weird coming from him, but he is entitled to his opinion.

I find it really silly when people compare doctors and businessmen with nepotism....it's not the same. Doctors have a rigorous preparation and licensure process over years, and a serious lapse can lead to their license being revoked. A doctor's son may decide to be a doctor but it's not like you can become a doctor overnight and patients will come to you, if you can't treat them. Even with businessmen, they have to maintain a steady revenue, partnerships or their entire businesses would go bankrupt. I don't think Mukesh Ambani kids or Anil are as talented as him, that's why he's still at the helm. Though they can have full access to his wealth and special privileges. Even a army-aspirant born to a father in the army has certain exams and strict guidelines to pass through to get there. They have to prove their merit repeatedly.

The best comparison to star kids imho are politicians, as an audience you really have no say in both sectors. There is no special qualification needed except money in the bank and clout. But actors can't say that openly otherwise politicians will eat them up alive.

Agree with him regarding ranbir. He is the best actor of his generation, that is why almost every colleague and director rate him as the best.

Among the current generation of actors....Ranbir is definitely the best....Alia is a very good actor and can be considered as one of the best of this generation.
