This is well known. Deepika was supposed to do Dhoom 3 and Adi had told her it was a done deal. But Katrina was a bigger star at that time and Aamir wanted her and not Deepika. So Deepika was removed.

I think Adi felt bad for her so he asked Karan to give her Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to make up for it. That's why she mentioned a swap.

It ended up being way better for her because Dhoom 3 was a terrible film and the female lead was a terrible role too.

Even a flop actor like Abhishek had the power to remove Kareena (Dostana), who was at the top at the time because he didn't want to work with Kareena.

I think Deepika was offered the film in 2011 or early 2012 and at that time she wasn't even considered a star.

I doubt it is Dhoom 3... they are talking as if the other film was a FLOP.. Dhoom 3 was one of the biggest hits of the year.

Katrina was a total joke in the film and had literally 2 dialogues and 4 songs. The movie was also one of the worst films ever made in recent times.

I don't think so? Aishwarya was offered Dostana, and when she rejected it, it went to Priyanka.
