Not debating on that but the initial crores came from her dad. It was his garage space which eventually lead to the birth of Balaji telefilms.
In her case it's not nepotism. I am straying a little bit but she always had her own gang of favourites who used to butter her up. This trend was copied by her very good friend Mr. karan johar. He overtook her.
Still Ekta is a self made woman. As a teenager always conscious about her weight. Wanted to go into advertising instead of films. Finally business sense prevailed. Thanks to her mom.
But isn’t it common for parents to invest on kids business in India? Or maybe even abroad? I see nothing wrong with that. Parents invest on education too. Parents spend lakhs on coaching, schools, colleges. Business families has been a trend in our country for centuries. Even occupation for that matter.
As for the buttering up, where does it not happen? Workplace, school, college even among relatives. Sometimes you have to be a crowd pleaser too.
The line here is a bit hazy. It might not even be about giving opportunities to the privileged. In some way or the other, someone’s more privileged, it’s a part of life. Someone is better looking, richer, brainy or more talented.
It’s more about monopolising, bullying and ganging up against outsiders. Also slandering for that matter.
