I didnt know about all those details..i started following bollywood since the last few years only..i just knew vidya got national award for the movie..but now years down the line when greatest female performance/characters are discussed i see more of Queen, Kahaani, PCs some performances etc..thats why i felt her performance in dirty picture is underrated.

Vidya in Dirty picture..i think its one of the best wholesome performance by a female actress..And the dialogue writer of that movie also deserves a lot of accolade..it was so good to watch a female character throwing all those massy punch dialogues all so convincingly.

Usually only crying/shocked/numb/depressed performances are considered as awardworthy which i completely disagree with..for example Irfan khan is considered a great actor but he most of the times had only one expression.

Vidya in the Dirty picture is one of my all time fav. But how is her performance underrated? She won 9 best actress awards for that movie, and everyone praised her.

When you take a look at an individual actor's career, mention those performances that are not much talked about.

Anushka Sharma - Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

1. Kareena Kapoor- Kurbaan (thriller at its best and the role was wonderfully done by Kareena)

2. Deepika Padukone- Lafangey Parindey (although I agree that she didnt act at her best, but she did not get the accolades as needed for the performance)

Housefull (people got connected over her comical side in Chennai express, but for me it was housefull)

3. Priyanka chopra- Saat khoon maaf and Whats ur rashee (difficult roles- 7 roles and 12 roles, excelled, but both were flop). Dil dhadakne do (subtle acting)

4. Kangana Ranaut- Panga (she excelled in the role)

Manikarnika (although I agree that she was not at her best, but she needed more recognition)

5.Anushka- ADHM (I got connected very well with the movie and she excelled, but its not everyone's cup of tea)

6. Sonam kapoor- Khoobsurat (only where she acted well)

7. Rani mukherji - No one killed jessica (I think it lead to Mardaani series); Hichki (although she got critical acclaim, it was award worthy performance) Yuva and veerzaara (amoong the ensemble she stood out)

8. Bipasha basu - Ajnabee (although she got praises, should have been more). Race (power house of talent)

This, I forgot to mention. Manisha was underrated for many of her roles. These two are amongst them. Loved her in these 2 movies ♥
