I think I've said this before, but I see a lot of similarities in the relationships between Kevin and Randall and Kuhu and Mishti, as well as the respective characters. I only wish this show would go there with Mishti like TIU did with Randall this past season. Obviously Kuhu was never close to being as messy as Kevin is, but she had a very similar character arc -- she seems selfish and weak at first, but you slowly realise that's because she's been taking care of herself from childhood, without much attention, "because she seems to be fine."
EDITED TO ADD: Totally with you Nikki! That said, I like that they have kept Kunal quite awkward and formal with Mishti. He's definitely making an effort because she is his bhai's wife, but I definitely don't see a genuine connection there yet. The only real conversation they had that wasn't about either Abir or Kuhu was when Kunal asked her about her adoption, and even that was very formal. I also find this whole devar-bhabhi thing quite cringe in their specific case -- like when she pulled his ear. It just feels weird to ignore their roles in the outside world and suddenly thopofy this cliched behaviour on them.
Yes totally. There are similarities between Kevin and Randall and Mishti and Kuhu. And the way it was handled in TIU without making anyone look immature or petty was an example of great writing. I want the writers to show Kuhu hit her lowest point just like Kevin did in the second season. ( Kaveri would give a mindblowing performance in those scenes). Maybe that would finally knock some sense into Maheshworis and Kunal on how they have been neglecting Kuhu's feelings and her valid concerns which led to her breakdown.
And talking about TIU, the way Randall and William's plot was handled was amazing. Randall never actually called William his Dad but the way he understood and forgave William was beautifully shown. I wish they would have shown something similar to that for Parul and Kunal instead of creating a huge scene and fuss out of giving Parul her "right" to be called Kunal's Maa. That was really out of character for Kunal.
We get few glimpses of real Kunal in some episodes which keeps me from completely disliking his character. The scenes where Kunal closed the curtains so that the light doesn't bother Parul or kept quiet when he hit his foot so that Parul does not get disturbed, shows the real Kunal. I wish we could see that Kunal more often. Instead of him following Abir's silly ideas to put bandaid on problems, I would love to see Kunal's character evolve and become more aware of the feelings of people other than Abir, Mishti and both of his moms.
@bold: Completely agree with you. And love the word thopofy ❤️ I am stealing that word and will start using in my real-life conversations as well 😆
