'Injustice And Pain': Justin Baldoni makes first public statement on Blake Lively lawsuit

Justin Baldoni has broken his silence on his legal dispute with It Ends With Us co star Blake Lively, sharing his first public remarks after months of staying away from the spotlight. In a five minute video posted on Instagram alongside his wife, Emily Baldoni, the actor and filmmaker reflected on what he described as an emotionally difficult period for their family.

Explaining why they had remained silent for so long, Baldoni said, "We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it's not because we haven't had anything to say, because Lord knows we have. But … it just didn't feel like the right time."

He went on to describe the experience as one marked by pain and uncertainty. According to Baldoni, the difficult phase also reinforced the importance of family, friends and faith in helping them cope. "Gratitude has saved us," he added.

Emily Baldoni also appeared in the video and spoke about the emotional impact the legal battle had on their family. She said, "We've had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things. Like, how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguised as a fight for women."

Speaking further about the past several months, she added, "The truth is, reality is, is that there's been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family."

Justin also thanked those who supported him during the legal proceedings. "There were so many of you who, when we didn't have a voice, were our voice. So many of you had discernment, and you used your intuition, and you trusted that. You have given your time to fight for us. And thank you does not feel like enough," he said.

Emily hinted that they may share more details in the future but said the immediate priority is healing. "There is so much more to say. That time will come, but for now, we are going to focus on continuing the healing and hanging out with our kiddos and enjoying life," she said.

The legal dispute between Baldoni and Lively concluded on May 4 after both sides reached a settlement in Lively's breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting retaliation lawsuit. However, reports state that Lively has since sought more than 8 million dollars in legal fees, with Baldoni having until July 13 to respond or make the payment.
