Similar to Maya and Monisha, I can totally imagine Kunal being weirded out because Mishti likes to drinks tea in the tea stall. 😆 That would have been such a fun element to the drama driven show like this 😃

I am in an alternate universe imagining:

Kunal as Maya

Mishti as Monisha

Abir as Rosesh

Kuhu as Sahil??

Meenu as Indravadan because only she can be that savage😂😂😂

That's such a coincidence that Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was brought up in here, because I literally just finished binge-watching it after a friend recommended it to me! The Kunal-Maya comparison has me in splits; it brings me back to Kunal's line, "haan, hoon main high maintenance. Aur mujhe yeh bolne mein sharam bhi nahi aati!"

Abir as Rosesh has me in splits 🤣 The shayari connection is strong with these two. 😉

Kunal as Maya also reminds me of the time he asked Kuhu, did you think I would stop at some roadside stand and ask you to eat pakoda? Now I just imagine him adding, how gastronomically middle class. 😆

and since we are talking about kuhu's personality, so another scene which captures her conflicts:

It would have been so much more realistic to see that side of Kunal than the Laxman version of Kunal we are getting now. Kunal's devotion towards Mishti came out of nowhere and it seems forced that he blindly follows her every word now.

But since Kunal's character has no individuality it makes sense that he loves whoever is important to his brother and his family. But it would have been so interesting to see Kunal and Mishti's relationship develop gradually and them pulling each other's leg and tolerating each other in a loving way.

Sighh !! Why do I always forget I am watching an ITV show where every character either loves the FL or hate her, there is no other feeling besides love and hate. 😒

*virtual high-five*

I saw a bit of Beth and Kevin at one point but it went for a toss.

I know it's killing us not having new episodes but I'm loving the fact that we can create our own show 😆.

I've realised that's the thing I love about shipping parallel leads. I know their story will never be completely shown on screen which leaves people like me to imagine scenes and stories. The possibilities are endless smiley36.

@bold: it literally makes me cringe 🤢.

AND when Kunal gets irritated with Kuhu on the pronunciation between "flower" and "flour" 🤣

versus Maya when she says "Monisha, yeh 'haila' tak toh theek tha, but this 'haichi' is vernacularly middle class!"

Hai na?!!!

Even if we leave out all the characters and just pick this maa-bete ka trio as Maya, Rosesh and Indravadan, this AU idea has a life of it's own. Is it weird that I need a crossover now??🤣

Also, peoples, sorry I'm not being too active abhi. Type karne ka bilkul mann nahi kar raha. So, I'm watching an old NAUC episode which I want to recommend. I don't think this episode needs any context. As you go on, you'll mostly understand what's happening. I highly highly recommend that you go watch it right now because it's frikkin' amazing and filled with drama and lead by an independent and strong woman who needs no one to protect her and how a supportive life partner plays a huge role.

I love this episode and I watch it every time I crave to see a strong female character on screen.

He's definitely making an effort because she is his bhai's wife, but I definitely don't see a genuine connection there yet. The only real conversation they had that wasn't about either Abir or Kuhu was when Kunal asked her about her adoption, and even that was very formal. I also find this whole devar-bhabhi thing quite cringe in their specific case -- like when she pulled his ear. It just feels weird to ignore their roles in the outside world and suddenly thopofy this cliched behaviour on them.

yes thankfully they are not trying to show kubir part 2 with mishnal, this friendly devar-bhabhi bond doesnt suit mishti & kunal's characters

it would be better if they show mishnal bond as between 2 mature people, having a mutual understanding & respect rather than being friendly

@bold: hai na, even I felt that, not even abir or meenu pulls kunal's ears like that, and given mishti & kunal's personalities, this looked so awkward

I only wish this show would go there with Mishti like TIU did with Randall this past season. Obviously Kuhu was never close to being as messy as Kevin is, but she had a very similar character arc -- she seems selfish and weak at first, but you slowly realise that's because she's been taking care of herself from childhood, without much attention, "because she seems to be fine."

Yes totally. There are similarities between Kevin and Randall and Mishti and Kuhu. And the way it was handled in TIU without making anyone look immature or petty was an example of great writing. I want the writers to show Kuhu hit her lowest point just like Kevin did in the second season. ( Kaveri would give a mindblowing performance in those scenes). Maybe that would finally knock some sense into Maheshworis and Kunal on how they have been neglecting Kuhu's feelings and her valid concerns which led to her breakdown.

And talking about TIU, the way Randall and William's plot was handled was amazing. Randall never actually called William his Dad but the way he understood and forgave William was beautifully shown. I wish they would have shown something similar to that for Parul and Kunal instead of creating a huge scene and fuss out of giving Parul her "right" to be called Kunal's Maa. That was really out of character for Kunal.

We get few glimpses of real Kunal in some episodes which keeps me from completely disliking his character. The scenes where Kunal closed the curtains so that the light doesn't bother Parul or kept quiet when he hit his foot so that Parul does not get disturbed, shows the real Kunal. I wish we could see that Kunal more often. Instead of him following Abir's silly ideas to put bandaid on problems, I would love to see Kunal's character evolve and become more aware of the feelings of people other than Abir, Mishti and both of his moms.

@bold: Completely agree with you. And love the word thopofy ❤️ I am stealing that word and will start using in my real-life conversations as well 😆
