Shahid was better than Ranveer + Ayushman

I'm very surprised that he didn't win any award for Kabir Singh. His performance was the highlight of this otherwise not-so-great film. I am against the film per se, but cannot take away from Shahid's performance. It was pitch-perfect and he kept you hooked till the end. The only reason I sat through this film was Shahid, and I'm sure there are others like me, who will feel that Shahid was absolutely superb and nailed it in emoting. He should have at least won the critic's award.

Ranveer was good in Gully Boy and Ayushman was good in Bala, but honestly, the kind of range which Shahid brought to the character of Kabir Singh, was unmatched by his contemporaries this year.

Do you guys agree?

No he wasn't. His was an above average perf., just like he is an above average actor. Nothing to write home about. I have seen the film, and his accent itself was a joke. If he couldn't get such an important thing right, then he doesn't deserve any awards.

I agree..but I think since it was a remake of a recent movie, his performance is overshadowed by comparison with the original..that happens a lot when people decide on best actor.

I also think becos the movie received so much flak, the organizers were afraid to give it to him ..

And of course there is always the behind the scenes explanation - that Ranveer paid more money for his award and Ayushman’s wife runs a PR company ...

I agree with you completely and I feel bad for actors like him and others who don't get the appreciation they deserve. Because of the controversy surrounding the movie, the credit Shahid should of gotten was taken away from him. Unfortunately Shahid will always be underappreciated and underrated as an actor. He doesn't have anyone to buy the award for him.

Shahid was stupendous in ks. Chalta hai hota hai, star awards koi Mayne nahi kehta hai

Public ne shahid ka career phir se revive kar diya usase bada award kya ho sakta hai shahid ke liye.

What shahid did was same like haider and udta punjab plus kaminy he won for his aggrassive role twice and one side one ausive chracter other side isnpring chracter of gully boy plus rnaveer did great as shy sinple guy playing aggraisve more easy then playing murad iam happy shahid not won bit he will will some awards in future so dont cry

It's not about shy or aggressive IMO...I am sure Shahid would have been able to play a shy guy and Ranveer an aggressive one...it's about the range required in a role...which Shahid executed to the utmost of his capacity. It is definitely a more demanding role than Murad....

Shahid has been unlucky box office wise but always has been lucky in getting awards...ye kaise miss ho gaya ? 🤔 Still RS winning makes sense but Ayush winning is lol...Hrithik in Super30 was far better than him.
