So u disagree to my point fine. Accepted. But reply on the topic please... u r here to reply on TM not to me. Any answer who is voting Shukla & why Kabir Singh is a hit? If you cannot answer perhaps I am right.
A good percentage of the people voting for Shukla are Hindi GEC viewers who have had a history of following his body of work over the years which cannot be taken away from him and trust the power of the positive image heâs instilled in their collective consciousness. To many, the version of him they are seeing on BB is just another onscreen version. Why do you think many people here still imagine Sid and Rashmi are in love? đ
Why was Kabir Singh a hit? Why was âDeewanaâ a hit and catapulted SRK and why was the scene of Shah Rukh smearing colours ruggedly on a Divya Bharati watched with palpitating gasps? Why was Darr a hit? Google âAnti-heroâ if you donât know about it already. Characters who break the ethical mould have been seen as aspirational since Classical Greek times. Nothing to do particularly with India.
I for one, am not a Hindi GEC person and will still vote for Shukla coz I like him for his thought process minus his aggression which I absolutely wonât approve of, but that I believe can be worked around with therapy. But the way he assumed the role of de facto leader from Day 1 has captured my imagination. And there is frankly no other aspirational guy in there who can measure up to him đ¤ˇââď¸ Plus I absolutely adore Sidnaaz.
As for Kabir Singh, as I mentioned about Darr and Deewana earlier, itâs also the wildness of the romance that has caught peopleâs imagination. Itâs a time when relationships are seeing breakdowns and loyalty is rare. In the middle of that hereâs a girl and guy sticking with one another despite all odds. They broke all of societal expectations and the movie literally fed the appetite of an adolescent and post adolescent audience. The rebel is always a hero in society. Plus hey, full credit to Shahid Kapoor and how he articulated the character. Plus the songs- a lot goes into making a movie a hit. Letâs not undermine the work of any department of the movie. Personally, many scenes were cringe for me, but I can see what would have appealed.
I am almost sure my long post wouldnât make a difference to your opinion, but hey, I tried. And no, Indian men are NOT intrinsically violent, there are absolutely stats to support a statement like that, even relatively speaking with other countries and kindly donât chastise our men based on one guy on Bigg Boss who has issues with anger management and the success of Kabir Singh- these are not parameters to judge an entire community. So, kindly refrain from random maligning.
