Mini definitely doesn't want to be Ashok's beti.....today's scene made it abundantly clear that she wanted to be HS ki beti.....but for whatever reason that I guess the writers won't bother to clarify in the last stretch....lol....HS couldn't accept her as his own.
Seemed like a case of lack of courage, especially on HS's side....he made the presumption that he's lost her trust for good so he isn't even going to bother trying anymore and on Mini's side, it seems to be a case of immense disappointment in him.....so they left it at a stalemate.
What I didn't get is why the dialogues tried to spin it as HS not being able to accept Mini as his apni beti....what did he mean by kaash tu meri apni beti hoti? And even later on, they showed NB saying what if it was your own daughter in the boat with Babita....who would you save then? So even NB is convinced that he never considered Mini his own daughter cuz she isn't his blood? lol
Ek taraf she is his Veer Balika, he calls her beti etc.....dusri taraf there is still a gap of "Meri apni beti"?
They totally insinuated in that NB scene that HS would always choose Babita over Mini cuz she is his wife and responsibility while he has no direct relationship with Mini so he wouldn't choose her......after a couple of epis of good scenes, it was again back to the mute version of HS who just sits around listless, silent, and helpless.
Oh well....I kinda had a feeling they would leave it vague in the last stretch....which is why I'm happy with what we got on Wednesday.....muqammal na hoke bhi muqammal ho gaya us din HS-Mini ka rishta.
well but mini needed some explanation today even if he would have said that he was scared that he would loose her to ashok because he couldnt bear to loose her would have been ok. she would have felt so much better & lighter that someone wants her because from babitas side she is feeling that she is unwanted. Also what stopped HS from stopping mini to go immediately. She could have stayed till her visa work was done. She was clearly distraught saying babes dosent need me anymore because she wants to get rid of ashoks nishani in her life what stopped HS from consoling her about it. Given her a hug. Told her he will be there for her always and she should contact him if she ever needs anything. Even 3-4 days of some normal life would have done her a world better before she left. HS clearly failed to step up today. Mini was clearly hurt yet she waited for him to say something but he dint.
Also i dont know if i can explain properly but HS sees mini as His and imartis daughter not as His and babitas daughter. I think that has been a issue because he dosent seem to see him and babita as parents to mini and co parent her in a way normally parents would do.
Yes they clearly established that HS would always choose babita over mini. That was quite hurtful. And that even after his monologue that he longed for mini to be his daughter & after the talk on NBs balcony with mini where he said he couldnt live with out her.
I also dont understand the need of yesterdays monologue after the scene in wednesdays episode where they established that they had a soul connection and they were above baap beti. dosent make sense both ruing to fall into the same category again. The makers have ideally messed up scene sequences. The wednesday scene should have come after today monologue and NB's talk. And after HS said he would do what she wants as he was her hero, he could have gone and made babita understand so that she allows mini to go willingly. Atleast that would have salvaged something.
And all this leaving on a very bad note and not being in contact for 5 years happens in stories where after leap the characters go back to each other and clear things out between them. Here after 5 years HS babita are not there so ending this on such a bad note without giving any closure is so not done. Mini will never get closure all her life. So much for the positive aura the show had in first 200 episodes. They dint need to do this they could have sent mini somewhat disappointed but still at some peace with both babita & HS. And then taken on season two with mini and her sister

I do think the scene were shot out of order.....the HS-NB scene that they showed yesterday....I remember seeing pics about this being posted like 3-4 weeks back.....then AD posted that pic of him and Ashnoor after the terrace scene much later....so clearly the HS-Mini terrace scene was shot in the very last days while this HS-NB scene was shot much earlier. .....
That said, it is up to the makers to manage the order....and they have gone back and forth with HS ka character before also so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised also.
Wednesday's scene could have given a decent closure to his character with that acceptance ki baap-beti na ban sake par usse badhkar the.....but the makers again brought them back to the same point of "I broke your trust, I'm sorry......it's your wish, your choice" etc. etc.
As you said, Mini clearly gave a broad opening to HS to say something, to stop her, to deny her statement ki woh kuch nahin lagti aap dono ki.....but he literally didn't say a word....and his monologue didn't really make up for it....the monologue was all about him wishing that he could have had Mini as his own daughter he saw grow up.....there was literally no reaction, not even hurt over Mini thinking that she is nothing to him.
In a way, it was like the reverse of the CD scene na.....when HS said ki tune kabhi mujhe baap maana hi nahin, Mini didn't say a word in response.....and today, when she said that main aapki lagti hi kya hoon, he didn't say a word. They both wanted the other to exert a right over each other....haq chahiye tha but they timed it differently.
As for him considering Mini his and Imarti's daughter....I do get your point....yes, he wasn't really able to coparent her with Babita.....in his mind, she was the daughter he never had with Imarti....but I don't know why he was thinking he was never able to say this to Mini....he's told Mini so many times that she makes him feel like she is his and Imarti's daughter. His silence after "Main darr gaya tha" was just left very vague......yeah I get that they wanted to show a monologue but they left such a big statement hanging in the air.....itna monologue ho gaya but phir bhi samajh nahin aaya ki darr kya tha? lol whole monologue was just about him wishing she was his own daughter....so was he saying that is what held him back from expressing this fear of losing her?
And the scene with NB was just all over the place IMO....I get that they wanted to set it up to show NB calling HS selfish for wanting Mini to stay back.....but there are ways of showing that selfishness.
Like in the terrace scene also, HS cried that if Mini left, woh kisse sab kuch share karega.....that was in a sense selfish too that he needed her to stay back only to be his emotional anchor or crutch....but it was still understandable. Instead, in the scene with NB, they showed that HS only wants Mini to stay back so this his relationship with Babita isn't messed up.....this is at odds with the Wednesday scene. So I don't know if the writers wanted to show him like this or it was an inconsistency.....either way, the scene felt disjointed to me.
Also, the whole boat analogy of who will you save.....that could have been better set up too. Yeah, we already know that HS is always in a catch-22 with mother-daughter....jiski bhi side lega, the other usually blames him. But the way they put in the dialogues of "teri apni beti hoti toh" just soured it....I really don't get the point of this scene.....why show HS saying ki Mini beti se badhkar hai only to then show dialogues of "meri apni beti hoti toh main maa beti mein se kise bachaata"......and even the bachaana angle was lamely set up. Yeah, I get it, end mein NB ko dialogue dena tha ki let Mini figure out how to swim on her own rather than her needing to be saved......but the whole boat analogy was so badly set up, ki mujhe toh kuch sympathy bhi nahin feel hui is line ke liye.
Anyways, we expected that things would end on some level of bad note.....malaal toh rehne hi the....yeah, if they had just left it at the Wednesday scene, the pain of an unfinished relationship would have been good enough to set up season 2.....but they literally brought HS-Mini back to square one.
Oh well, I'll take Wednesday as the apt ending for me.....that scene was so tremendous, it deserves to be the final act.....not these listless scenes they are showing in the last two epis.

The whole boat anology was weird to me . Even If HS real daughter would be considered it's a catch 22 situation for anyone. And it left a very bad taste too. And yes HS sounded so selfish when he said mini going will affect babita and his relationship.
And I dint mean that they messed up the sequence unknowingly I meant instead of going front and back, that Wednesday ka HS mini interaction should have been after all the monologue and NB discussion . The writers should have planned in that way instead of going forward and back. They haven't planned this track properly is what I feel. And somewhere sending mini on a very bad note so that she dosent be in contact for 5 years was more important to them than leaving things to somewhere take a middle path.

Yes, the boat analogy was weird and to me it even felt as if NB for once had no clue what HS was going through and how he felt about Minnie. He was right, either way he loses. It also felt as if he didn't agree with all of what NB was saying but that he didn't want to tell her how the equations have changed.
Also, when exactly did NB try to make him understand things? She made it sound like it was several times, though I don't see that she made persistent efforts or anything. When was the last time they had a heart-to-heart? She said she wouldn't get involved in their matters and stepped back. I am not blaming NB, just saying that some of her dialogues didn't make sense.
I also feel the telephone call scene should have been the end of it, but the torture seems to continue. They just couldn't leave things at that, could they? 😡

Exactly.....I really didn't understand the point of the boat analogy....it would be a hard choice any which way.....whether or not it was it was his "real daughter".....but NB seemed to be trying to claim if it was his real daughter, then he would choose his real daughter over Babita😕
Dunno if it was poor planning or the writers intended it like this only.....I can't fully tell with them 😕😆

@bold: Word.....this is why I found the scene disjointed too....what was NB talking about? When exactly did she intervene to "caution" HS from rushing into the marriage? lol if I recall, she was actively egging him on to claim Babita or leave her for good......and when he did stake a claim by declaring himself Mini's father, I don't recall NB cautioning him against "maa ka karz chukaane ki jaldi"🤔
All she did was that one talk the day of the marriage cautioning him that he didn't yet fully know Mini.....after that she rarely ever bothered other than telling him to exert the haq of his rishta when Babita was avoiding him in the early days of the marriage.
And yes, HS's silence is open to interpretation.....were we to take it as him being silent cuz he felt NB was telling him harsh truths about how he won't step up for Mini? Or was he silent cuz he didn't fully agree with her?
Also, if she is really the Maa he claims she is to him, how come he never bothered sharing his deepest fears about Mini with her either? Kisi se bhi na kiye.....so what do we make of that? Just general failure?
Anyways, the writers just wanted to get to the end by this point I guess.....Wednesday would have been a good point to stop....even with the letter fallout, things could have been wrapped up better....but oh well.

She was the one who encouraged HS to open his mother's room up and to welcome Babita in so that some of the misery around his mother's life and death could be washed away. That scene and the follow up could have had immense potential but it all went down the drain. Biggest waste of background material I have ever seen in a show, ITV or otherwise.
I take his silence as not agreeing wholly with NB because it went against his voice overs and his heightened emotions regarding Minnie. Why was he using Babita as a crutch even in front of NB? He could have easily told her he didn't want Minnie to be separated from him because he loved her and wanted her in his life. I don't necessarily see that as selfish. He was willing to support her going so that she had a bright future and would never let his emotions get in the way.
Yeah, it just felt as if they were trying to get to the finish line of season one so they used NB's character to tell us what they wanted to, and get us to take it at face value. The fact that for once in the entire season I found NB's words to be a bit hollow just goes to show that the writing has indeed become sloppy so I don't care anymore. I know what I know about HS and Minnie and I will continue to see things that way.
Thank you....I hope to be able to gif the rest of the scene today, time willing.
Baaki toh aaj however their conversation goes, we will have these moments to remember
THIS is how I want to remember them. I really hope it's not their last hug. I really hope HS and Minnie have one more sentence, hug, anything before she leaves. Not sure what they can achieve in 2 episodes.

I don't think there's any doubt that they both accept and love each other as father and daughter but because of all the craziness that they've both been through, they kind of lost the fight. I won't say Babita is entirely to blame but she does play a big part in it.
HS' lack of courage has failed him at the worst time possible. I just feel terrible that he has become tongue-tied again like he was with his mother. He came to say something to her but left without doing so.
I think what he meant by 'kaash tu meri apni beti hoti' in the sense that he wished he had raised her since she was born, that he had gotten to see her grow up and that he could exert the haq on her that he now desperately wants to but feels he can't.
The NB-HS scene felt very random. I just discarded the boat analogy. It made no sense. I just felt for once that even NB didn't understand her son's state of mind fully. She looked at him as Babita's husband and not Minnie's father. That was the moment I felt he was truly alone. No body really understood him and the one who usually did, was going away.
Damn the CVs. For the first time, I hate them for what they're doing to this father-daughter story. I am not asking for a happy or sad ending per se. Just make it sensible please. Is that too much to ask?
That voice-over bit was the toughest ever for me to watch. My heart finally broke.
