Unpopular Opinion: Siddharth Malhotra isn't that bad of an actor

I know Siddharth gets a lot of flak for his acting skills but I always felt that he isn't that bad, he isn't the best at typical Indian hero type roles that I will agree, he can definitely work on his dialogue delivery and emoting at times

But I do genuinely feel he has potential, he has a solid screen presence let's not forget that in the first SOTY film he walked away with most of the attention. He also did well in Ek Villain in the emotional and anger scenes, in fact in Marjaavan he does very well in the scenes where he "kills" Tara's characters, his expressions are solid there

What I am trying to say is that I feel he has potential but he needs a good director maybe to bring it out, he also needs to work more harder on dialogue delivery and not sometimes being so stiff on screen but there is a screen presence he has

I saw his recent film Jabariya Jodi, and he wasn't bad at all. He was actually pretty good. People always undermine him mainly because he flops. If he delivers hits, people will call him a good actor. The industry does this, so does the audience.

Yep he was pretty good in Jabariya Jodi and A Gentleman too. You work only if your movies work, sadly; hence he doesn't get any credit.

yes he's definitely not bad,

SOTY, hasee toh phasee, kapoor n sons, he made a genuine good following with these films, multiplex films and romantic characters are his forte but for some reason dunno why his focus has gone totally off and now he's only concerntrating on silly single screen masala and action movies jabariya jodi, marjaavan, shershaah which no1 wants to see him in.

He doesn't know how to emote at all, and dialogue delivery is flat and most importantly has no life or energy in his performance.

He is John Abraham of this era, but only worse.

I saw a promo of him recently and apparently was offered Badhaai ho. though i loved ayushmann in it and thought he was perfect for the role, if sid picked better scripts he could be way more appreciated. Besides kapoor and sons, all his choices have been ok script wise. He is not varun who can draw in an audience based on his masala hero avatar. As said already, he should do good content roles which suit him, not try to be like others who have are more strong with those types of roles

Don't you think there are worst male actors than Sid though? He can't be the worst. What about Arjun Kapoor? How does he still get roles...He can be pretty horrible on screen.

I liked him in Kapoor and sons.

Yes there are worse, but thread is about Sid, so I don't think bringing others is necessary. Arjun is terrible yes, but Sid isn't better.
