Why Ashutosh needs to copy Bhansali when he has Jodhaa Akbar?

Jodhaa Akbar is the trendsetter for all the historical films lately. SLB also inspired by Jodhaa Akbar and even gave reference to Jodhaa in his film Bajirao Mastani in one scene

Why Ashutosh who gave such a classic film Jodhaa Akbar which was so beautiful without over the top VFX and fake sets yet grand. There was an earthy feeling in Jodhaa Akbar which SLB's both Bajirao and Padmavaat lacked because of over the top grandeur with fake looking VFX and fake looking sets.

Ashutosh wants to strick back. In order to do so he started copying SLB in his new film Panipat. This is unexpected from him who is far better director than SLB when it comes to historicals and social films. His Lagaan , Swades and Jodhaa Akbar are classics. No doubts about that's. A director who gave gems are now copying another director who gave more focus on grandeur rather than intensity and soulfulness

See the thing is the customs and styling in Panipat will be same as Bajirao Mastani due to them being in the same era and same period, from the same family.

Aab BM ke compare na ho, bolke Ashu jeans aur t shirts toh nahi pehna sakta na Kriti aur Arjun ko.

Apun Jodha Akbar dekh ke jab theater se baahar nikalela tha raat ke 2 baj gayele the. Apun ko movie achha lagaa lekin thoda boring bhi tha. Apun ko Bajirao Mastani itna achha lagela tha ki apun usku khareed ke phone mein rakhela hai (ekich baar dekhela hai😒).

Short mein bolenga toh SLB >> Ashutosh for historicals.

Colour palette of the movie is more JA than BM! ... So Ashu is still there!

Costume n all is fine. But my only problem is why why Arjun Kapoor out of all???🙄

I think this will be the main problem. pallete copying..pose copying.. eh.. people can overlook if performances and script is good if cinematography is good.

But if it fails in script..pr cinematography.. it should have at least good performances..and Arjun really slacked off of late..he doesn't inspire confidence he'd carry the role well..

The dialogues seem to be so damn ordinary.

Usko aisa sabak sikha ki usko dhekne ki himmat na ho and other bull shit.

That is the astonishing part. Not only did he copy the sets , color palette and posters but also scenes and background score which he need not given he has his own aesthetics as a period director. This had after effects of BM more than what usually his period movies look like.

People comparing kjo's kalank to Slb's work is fine. But Ashutosh has already done historic movies like Jodha Akbar or lagaan & he was good at his craft. He could have taken some decent low budget actor may be like Rajkumar rao. From Amir, srk, hrithik, priyanka he came down to someone like Arjun Kapoor. He is soo lazy and expressionless. That's unacceptable. I feel bad for Ashutosh.
