I am a malayali
And i prefer to watch hindi dubbed versions of Tamil, telugu, other indian regional languages, english films than with subtitles.. reading subtitles can be a nuisance... actually i can understand Tamil to 90% without any dubbing or subtitles.. but i want to understand eveyr damn word, its like an OCD..not understanding a single word makes me uncomfortable.. So i prefer to watch Tamil movies also with hindi subtitles if available.
But i would anyday watch subtitled version than Malayalam dubbed versions of other language movies..i find Malayalam dub usually funny and silly...Once upon a time Allu arjun movies used to be realeased in malayalam since he was a hit in kerala.. those movies used to have good dubbing..so it felt normal watching the dubbed movie..otherwise malayalam dubs of other languages are a big No.
I have seen Turkish serials dubbed in Urdu and the dubbing was literally bad as most emotional scenes were dubbed badly. Subtitles are the best option when you can't get a proper dubbed version even if they sometimes don't make sense and now since I'm used to subtitles, it helps me to concentrate on the scene as well as the words and I enjoy the emotional scenes better.
Both are bad,but I prefer dubbing.
Because reading subtitles during a movie just kills the essence for me
Subtitles. I need to hear real actor's voice to know about his acting and emotions of the character.
