When asked about a '3 Idiots' sequel in an interview with Mid-Day, Boman Irani revealed he had no confirmed information. However, the actor, who played Professor Viru Sahastrabuddhe, affirmed his readiness to work with director Rajkumar Hirani, sparking renewed hope among fans for a second instalment.

Sharman, like Boman, has addressed the sequel rumors. In an interview, he mentioned ongoing discussions about a '3 Idiots' sequel. Regarding the latest speculation, Sharman clarified it was linked to an advertising campaign. However, he remains hopeful that the rumors will finally come to fruition.

Boman Irani is currently involved in the sequel to 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', alongside Anupam Kher and Ranvir Shorey. He praised the new director, stating, "The new director is doing a fantastic job. The spirit of the story is intact." The original film was directed by Dibakar Banerjee, and Prashant Bhagia is directing the sequel. Additionally, Irani might feature in Rajkumar Hirani's third 'Munna Bhai' film. Arshad Warsi confirmed the script is in development, assuring it "will definitely happen this time."
