Bhansali Productions also shared the news on their official page on the microblogging site saying the banner has decided to not go ahead with the movie for now. "Bhansali Productions has decided to not go ahead with In-shaa-Allah for now... Further announcement will be out soon," the tweet read.

The project, a co-production between Salman and Bhansali's banners, marked the director-actor duo's first collaboration in two decades where Salman, 53, was supposed to play the lead.

Inshallah has been in news since the time the lead actors announced the news of their maiden collaboration on social media earlier this year. Moreover, filmmaker Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, was preponed after Salman announced that Inshallah will release on Eid 2020.

The news of the film being shelved created quite a furore among Salman fans, who wondered which film would Bhai possibly release next Eid. to pacify his worried fans, Salman tweeted on Monday evening with a reference to his dialogue from Kick, "Itna mat sochna mere baare mein, Dil mein aata hoon.. aur Eid pe bhi.

Bhansali made his directorial debut with 1996's "Khamoshi - The Musical", which starred Salman. The actor went on to feature in the director-producer's classic "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" in 1999 opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

He also made a cameo in Bhansali's "Saawariya", which launched Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

I think Salman's difficult behaviour and demanding things to be done his way must have pissed off SLB. Also I think he lost faith in what Alia had to offer as she was a laughing stock after the major flop Kalank and her cringeworthy Ghar More Pardesiya dance. SLB clearly felt he didn't need to push the boat any further. Good decision.

This is Salman's loss, not SLB's.

Even if the movie had flopped, Salman would have had a great movie in his kitty. SLB rarely misses the mark. His universally panned Saawariya is the most visually enchanting movie I've seen from Bollywood.

Salman, in contrast, hasn't had a truly great movie since Bajrangi. Sultan was good and Tiger was decent, but they weren't great movies. This was his one shot at a great movie.

But now, he's doing craps like No Entry 2 and Kick 2. The originals were entertaining, massy movies. But I have no faith in Salman to deliver anything good anymore.

Dabbang 3 will be his swan song.

I'll never understand why people such as SRK or Salman - with iconic status, tons of money, influence and fans - don't push themselves to work harder. to focus on the quality, to be legitimate actors. Is it because they are arrogant or lazy? They are in a position to experiment (no, being a CGI'ed dwarf or spitting out boring franchise instalments and remakes after remakes doesn't count). They should set the tone for the rest of Bollywood instead of being its laughing stocks. They should play against the conventions, invite more talented outsiders to work on truly exciting projects.

The writing was on the wall. I never for once second believed this movie would release. SLB is probably the only Director who would dare clash with Salman and wouldn’t take any of his s***. He likes leading/controlling his actors, he is detailed, a perfectionist. How on earth did he think Salman would be a good choice. And the FL is too weak for his kind of movies. SLB is not a risk taker, not with the type of budgets he works with, so I bet you he will end up casting Ranveer with Alia or Katrina.

Why will be cast Katrina opposite Ranveer in a movie where the heroine is supposed to be a young girl and hero an old man??

It wasn't supposed to be a classic SLB movie, rather he wanted to do something new, a romantic comedy about a old Casanova type man falling in love with a young, struggling actress.
