Depends on what kind of movies you are looking at tbh. Yes, South does have its share of misogynistic movies but its ahead of Bollywood when it comes to original content.

It has far worse movies than Bollywood and far far far better movies as well.

Also please understand that there is no South Movie industry. It’s not one. And each industry has different kinds of movies.

Bollywood makers unfortunately seem to be interested only in a certain category of films.

Edited to add- The movies in the Southern Industries have huge problems, I agree. But it's Bollywood's choice to remake the problematic movies. There are so many other movies that are so much better than anything Bollywood has churned out. Any movie of fahadh faasil for instance. And Malayalam movies barely have any misogyny anymore.
