Akshay receives flak for his Canadian citizenship & wt sparked it was

Netizens spare no one and yes, they do have the time to dig up all the dirt you have hidden and humiliate you in public. This time it's the turn of Khiladi Kumar, Akshay as he has landed himself in trouble with an innocent tweet. It seems like the netizens were waiting for a chance to troll the 51 year old Bollywood super star.

Akshay Kumar, who is currently on a vacation in London, tweeted about BMC's debut on Twitter. He was glad to let people know that they can now share the grievances directly through Twitter. But what came in the way of his message was the Canadian citizenship he holds.

He wrote,"The BMC is now on twitter as @mybmc, you can now tweet your suggestions/ grievances to BMC directly and get them addressed.Try it now to make your voice heard directly."

The Twitterati went all savage on him as he is a Canadian citizen and is in no position to let the mighty Mumbaikars know what to do. Akshay Kumar's Canadian citizenship bring him a lot of flak and even after clarifying that he hasn't even been to Canada in last seven years and is a tax payer in India, people don't spare him.

Even though Akshay has very clearly mentioned in the past,"I really don't understand the unwarranted interest and negativity about my citizenship. I have never hidden or denied that I hold a Canadian passport. It is also equally true that I have not visited Canada in the last seven years. I work in India, and pay all my taxes in India.

While all these years, I have never needed to prove my love for India to anyone, I find it disappointing that my citizenship issue is constantly dragged into needless controversy, a matter that is personal, legal, non-political, and of no consequences to others. Lastly, I would like to continue contributing in my small way to the causes that I believe in and make India stronger and stronger."

i understand the sensitivity of this issue

basically in case of India u cannot be dual citizen

this means if he is canadian citizen then he had to renounce his Indian citzenship

which is a big deal specially if ur working in india

i understand where the anger is coming from

on top of that he is not open about it.
