Oh so, just because it's a movie its okay to show all that without any consequence? WOW. If I am not wrong, the defence that people like Kabir Singh exists in real life and that's how it was portrayed, was used too. Which is it then?

Aaah, its ironical that you brought Rang De Basanti because did you know that ,that movie was instrumental in making candlelight vigils a movement in India? And actually acted as a catalyst for justice in both Jessica Lal and Nirbhaya cases.

Now you know the kind of effect movies have in our society. I can name a lot of movies like this. English Vinglish made a whole dalit society change recently. So don't underestimate the power of cinema in Indian society.

yep RDB did play a role in creating public uproar in Jessica Lal case. Lakshya inspired many to join army

Er you seem to have such clear thinking it really boggles the mind.

Things can always be judged as toxic masculinity, slu t shaming, victim blaming, hom ophobia, racism etc etc etc.

I wonder in an IQ contest between you and a chimp, who will win.

That doesn't make any sense ..... you cant sexually harass someone that you invited over to have sex with lol . Yes, you can withdraw consent from proceeding. Thats something entirely different than "harassment"

I have enough IQ to know if there's one IQ contest between a chimp and you, who will win. So don't strain your pretty lil head thinking of my IQ. You can keep you abundant wonder to yourself lol.

So did all rapes & crimes stop after rang de basanti ?

I m a woman too & hv done my bit not just fr rape victims but also fr drug addicts ..thats why I can connect to this movie well ..So I know well the kind of impact movies hv on society ..its upto an individual whose good & bad qualities they tk after watching a movie ..if after watching kabir singh ,more people join mèdical & become surgeons the same movie will become impactful but if people get more kick out of discussing just the negatives then obviously the society will never change ..

Goodness. So what would call it when you withdraw consent and stop proceeding and the other person pulls a knife at you and demands you start undressing?

I m neither supporting this youtube looser nor that Shichitra ..I m just against the hypocrisy here bec noone had issue with Swara's masturbate scene or the way smoking & casual sex by the girl gang was glorified in Veera Di Wedding movie..Noone had issue when Alia's character Safeena breaks a bottle on Kalki's head or beats up the other girl who just whatsapped Murad as that was seen as women power but suddenly same bunch of critics r coming out with moral lectures fr Kabir Singh ..So does that mean if a female does it, then its feminism & if male does it then mysogyny ? ..

I m equally fine with both Safeena and Kabir & loved both Gullyboy & kabir singh bec I watch a movie mostly fr the flawed characters & the different layers of intensity these characters portray in a movie ..I dont watch a movie to take lessons ..Books r there for it ..

Also want to break few myths surrounding Kabir Singh bec I suppose many hv not watched the movie & r making judgements based on just what different types of critics said based on their own selective bias ..

Few such myths r

1)Many had issue that Kabir asks a girl to strip by pointing knife but why noone had issue that the same girl herself called Kabir at her house fr pleasure/casual sex thus cheating on her boyfriend who was at doorstep,..Yeah the girl had a boyfriend & was happily cheating on him with a druggie Kabir ..Kabir never cheated on Preeti when he was in relation with her which was ignored by most feminist critics ..

2) Another issue is OMG Kabir slaps Preeti..bloody MCP.. But noone had issue Preeti slapped Kabir more no. of times in the movie than he did ..Middle point is noone really understood the depth of their relation ..It was simply raw & wild types & slap here was not exactly a abuse ..both slapped each other casually to put across a point & it was mutual again ..But as usual the gender bias got to many critics ..

3) Many had issue that Kabir treated Preeti like his possession ,took her out fm class ,brought her to his hostel room ..etc etc ..But why noone had issue that Preeti treated Kabir like her possession too & stalked him all the way to Massorie & demanded kiss fm him right in front of his hostel in public view ? ..Middle point is both characters were shown extreme & possessive fr each other ..Had Preeto ever used the word No & yet Kabir forced himself on her ,I would shout out but that never happened..She equally wanted him ,she equally was possessive fr him & she took the first step in hostel room before they had their first sex ..But as usual Preeti's advances were royally ignored bec in the name of feminism ,few critics had to highlight Kabir's male dominated advances

4)Everyone have issue that after watching Kabir Singh ,all men will behave like stud ,take drugs , misbehave with women bla bla ..But why none of these critics really saw it from a point that mayb after watching kabir singh ,all those roadside studs will b inspired to study medicine , take a mbbs degree & become a top surgeon bec afterall Kabir Singh found his Preeti in a medical college only & even Preeti accepted Kabir's advances bec he was a MBBS doctor & surgeon in the making and not some roadside gunda ..

While stating these myths nowhere i m defending Kabir ..He had anger issues & was a flawed character ..But all I m saying is Preeti was no saint either ..She too was a rebel & knew the risks well while falling fr Kabir ..She equally showed her domination towards Kabir & it was not really one sided affair like most of these critics r making out to b ..

Main reason why I loved Kabir Singh is because If we can look beyond feminism chants, then movie was about how life always give u a 2nd chance if u r willing to change & redeem yourself which KabirSingh did after his grandmom's death shakes him up & he understand his dad's pain ..

Theres a beautiful scene where KabirSingh tells his dad I realised there r 3 phases in life-Birth,life & death ,rest 90% of our lives r reaction to these 3 phases..so true👏.He realised this after someone address his grandmom's dead body as body & he is like body kisne bola..thats his realisation ..Realisation that once u die, only body remain & soul goes, then nobody cares fr that body..So he realised he is still alive & his loved ones like his dad, friend & brother still care fr him.Thats when he decide to change himself & live for his loved ones instead of going in self destructive zone .Such a positive message which most missed because most of these critics r watching it already with a prejudiced mindset ..

Theres a reason why movie is on coarse to even surpass 200 crore at box office ..Just few rowdy men watching the movie will never give it universal appeal ..Movie is becoming a blockbuster bec many families r watching it fr the above pointers I hv mentioned & those family r thankfully not on twitter to just hv one dimentional view ..they r watching it with open mind & judging accordingly ..

Last but not the least ,many said if Kabir really changed in the end then why again he went behind a already married girl Preeti ..Again the main point most missed here ..He never went behind or stalked her after her marriage .He preferred destroying himself than going and destroying her marriage unlike Dhanush's character did in Ranjhana but surprisingly noone had a problem there .Here Kabir never did that..But one sudden day when he was on his way to recovery ,he sees Preeti in a garden ..He sees her 8 months pregnant & so starts walking away from her but then suddenly he turns back & sees her unhappy and sad ..He still dont approach her and just walk away ..That same night he talks with his best friend Shiva that I saw Preeti & she is not happy despite her pregnency ..Thats when next day he decide to go and talk to her that why is she sad ..Thats when he tells her to come back to him if she is unhappy in her marriage & he dint even care that she mayb preggy with her husband's child bec his 1st priority was her happiness. .He told her if u want me to go I will go & if u want me to talk to your husband i will do that too ..So he left it to Preeti ..Now it was Preeti's choice here to forgive him and tell him how she already left her hubby and she is actually pregnant with his child but not before she makes Kabir go down on his knees asking fr forgiveness from.her and also slapping him some 5-6 times ..

So fr me it was perfect ending as both the flawed characters deserve each other fr going against the norms of society & fr being a terrible rebel ..They deserved each other bec by that time they had already lost a lot ..Kabir lost his grandmom & his medical licence was also cancelled fr 5 yrs & Preeti lost the support of her family & was lonely during her 8 months of pregnency ..So they both already suffered fr their flaws ..After that both were given a 2nd chance by God who made them meet & gave them that opportunity to regret & reconsile ...In the end the movie gives hope to all those who lost their way in ego , anger ,drugs , alcohol etc but theres always a comeback fr them with one life changing event & here the life changing event fr Kabir was his grandmom's death & fr Preeti it was her baby which finally made her a matured woman with a spine as in the end its her who calls the shots ..

So I saw the movie as journey of 2 flawed characters on their path to destruction followed by their redemption , regret & recovery ..Thats how even my mom-dad saw it & loved it .

PS :I m a DeepVeer & Aamir fan .so I hv no hidden agenda to support Shahid or this movie but I loved KabirSingh the movie & Shahid did a terrific job ..

No i didn't like Safeena beating that girl as well. I didn't like everyone praising her act,

Lol nooo. I can't believe I'm having to explain basic definition of consent. Consent can be withdrawn any sec, n u can't proceed after that. That's how it works in any civilized society

Everyone watching this movie isnt a MCP nowhere have I said that. Don't pull moronic statements outta your ass. But seeing the movie and thinking there was nothing wrong with the way he was glorified, the way he treated Preeti like a territory and he a territorial dog who pisses on it is wrong. Its the celebration of Kabir Singh's character and how much of a 'stud' or masculine he is by doing the things he did. Listen to the actual problem rather than making stupid conjectures about critics' opinions. Sucharita could be biased as hell I don't even follow her reviews but her points on Kabir Singh are absolutely correct.

True. Glad atleast someone is speaking this.
