Is it hard for older actresses to break thru?

OK i notice that in BW, when new actresses debut..they are always referred to as next big thing. also they are hyped if they are young in age, like early 20's. and if they dont make a mark in couple years. they are written off, and the new next big thing title is given to a newer girl

Why are actresses of older age like 30's-mid 30's not given same attention if they debut late, but male actors in their 30's are ok to debut and have a long career.

Is it necessary for all actresses to debut in early 20's to have a good career in bollywood?

thanks for answering my question :)

I personally feel so yes, How many 33 34 actresses have we seen debut...1 or 2....the focus is always on younger and younger girls, 14,15,16, that is how society operates, sad but true, underage girls are sexualised on screen to sell tickets, remember Bobby ??

Two reasons. Men prefer to see young girls on screen with the heroes (doesn't matter their age). Women (young women especially) crush on the heroes (again age hardly matters) and call any girl who looks a bit older "old lady" and demand a "younger lady" for their crush on screen.

Maybe we women can start to value older women a little bit more by being their fangirls and promoting their work?

I can't name but I am sure there have been many people who want to enter bollywood in their 30's. But it is not possible, thats what im saying..its not really accepted.

I am sure many tv actresses want to bridge from TV to Bollywood in their 30's as well

If I cant name any, then there is obvioulsy a biasness against it

I have never felt these. I would be fine with older heros with girls there age. Maybe mentality will change
