Do you think Nepotism will ruin BW? - Page 4

On a contrary , due to modern days nepotism, I see bright future of Bollywood. Thanks to Alia, Tiger, Vicky, Jhanvi and Sara.

Personally I don't think it will ruin it because there will always be crappy films regardless of who's in it, but, I would like to see more films with non star kids too. Or outsiders promoted as heavily as them.

No...it won't, at least in today's age. Gone are the days of Akki and SRK, where you can just come in to the business outta nowhere, make movies and win peoples hearts.

Today, making an impact is more calculated and You need people like Karan who know the business inside out to take risks, get return without investing too much. I remember watching an interview where preeti of jungleee productions, say they don't want to launch new comers and rely on people like Karan to do it, establish them and then they can choose to produce movies with them.
If you think, launching newcomers is a huge risk... you have to invest so much money in grooming, putting them in front of the right people.., essentially curating them. Karan/ Salman take that risk, but choose rich kids mostly in film families, so they can pay for these things and he just lends his name and expertise, other than ofcourse producing the movies.

I think we view nepotism badly, cuz lots of these kids want to just become or end up becoming mediocre actors, ignoring the fact that only one aspect of nepotism. Like why can't they choose to become writers, or directors, or producers like Farhan, Zoya. These kids know the industry, they know the world or cinema, yet they don't pursue its excellence or push its boundaries, to be innovative.

Kalank which is the most nepotistic project in recent years, is below the mark in all ways, based on what we have seen.

Writers, lyricists and cinematographers are not given due credit and recoginition for their hard work. Probably that's the reason they also just started copy pasting from outside. Kinda egg-chicken situation.

I dont want mediocrity serves upon us like Arjun Rampal or John Abraham or Akshay who keep getting films after films despite 40 flops. While Talented star kids like Akshaye Khanna dont get films.

Every outsider has their sister or brother associated with film industry thru Nepotism. Be it Kangana's equally foul mouthed sister, Anushka's brother, PC cousin Parineeti, Kriti n her sister, Yami n her sister, Ayushman n his brother or even Rajkumar Rao promoting his mediocre GF, SRK promoting his wife n daughter etc etc.

Let all these loud mouth attention seekers crying against Nepotism practice what they preach first.

You get yami gautam , good actress with great looks, give a good performance in critically and financially acclaimed Vicky donor.

Get some debut awardds too.

Than you got Alia same year , below average looks with bad performance in critically panned soty.

By any means who would get better films to follow up , Alia in highway (where a fantastic performance by randeep is ignored for a ok performance and highlited as next Meryl Streep ) and big banner film follows , contrast this to yami follow up films after Vicky donor she got only 2 cameos in action Jackson and Badlapur in 3 years.

How would someone skill be perfected without getting work and without working with good directors and have to make do with pulkit samrat movies .

What about Suraj, Athiya, Arjun, Uday, Jacky Bhagnani, Sonam, Jhanvi, etc deserved the big debuts they got? They wouldn't have made through a single audition if not nepotism. I don't have problem with talented star kid's but also I don't want mediocrity served upon us.
