Personally I don't think it will ruin it because there will always be crappy films regardless of who's in it, but, I would like to see more films with non star kids too. Or outsiders promoted as heavily as them.

Creatively, Bollywood has already been ruined. True talents have no chance in the industry ruled by hacks such as kjo, salmonella etc.

No...it won't, at least in today's age. Gone are the days of Akki and SRK, where you can just come in to the business outta nowhere, make movies and win peoples hearts.

Today, making an impact is more calculated and You need people like Karan who know the business inside out to take risks, get return without investing too much. I remember watching an interview where preeti of jungleee productions, say they don't want to launch new comers and rely on people like Karan to do it, establish them and then they can choose to produce movies with them.
If you think, launching newcomers is a huge risk... you have to invest so much money in grooming, putting them in front of the right people.., essentially curating them. Karan/ Salman take that risk, but choose rich kids mostly in film families, so they can pay for these things and he just lends his name and expertise, other than ofcourse producing the movies.

I think we view nepotism badly, cuz lots of these kids want to just become or end up becoming mediocre actors, ignoring the fact that only one aspect of nepotism. Like why can't they choose to become writers, or directors, or producers like Farhan, Zoya. These kids know the industry, they know the world or cinema, yet they don't pursue its excellence or push its boundaries, to be innovative.

Kalank which is the most nepotistic project in recent years, is below the mark in all ways, based on what we have seen.

Writers, lyricists and cinematographers are not given due credit and recoginition for their hard work. Probably that's the reason they also just started copy pasting from outside. Kinda egg-chicken situation.

Pretty much this.
Starts with quality of script and not copied ideas. I have started to enjoy the South film industry more- both BW and South industry have their fair share of crappy movies but at least Telugu, Tamil et al are trying to do original movies in a bigger percentage.
Now BW is copying like mad everything the other industries do - because they have lesser coverage, so BW can try run on their success.

Pity, though. BW could be so much more than what it is.
And nepotism will affect more if 80-90% of stars will be nepo kids with a modicum of talent. At l;east before only SOME nepo kids suceeded.. now every Tom, Dick and harry is trying to push their kids through as 'stars' . Smh.

Yes
ruined but not totally
Just keeps us vanchit of real talent

Good point.
Also - they give outsiders crappy role, a so-so movie and a bad director.. then give nepo kid the best roles available, with best director and a load of money.. then OF COURSE they start shouting: ''see , 'X' nepo kid deserved it cause look how good she/he is.. look how audience embraced them!''- when in fact audience loved the subject of movie and the role, and probs would have loved the movie irrespective of the 'star', or even more if a talented outsider was allowed to essay the role.

I dont want mediocrity serves upon us like Arjun Rampal or John Abraham or Akshay who keep getting films after films despite 40 flops. While Talented star kids like Akshaye Khanna dont get films.

Every outsider has their sister or brother associated with film industry thru Nepotism. Be it Kangana's equally foul mouthed sister, Anushka's brother, PC cousin Parineeti, Kriti n her sister, Yami n her sister, Ayushman n his brother or even Rajkumar Rao promoting his mediocre GF, SRK promoting his wife n daughter etc etc.

Let all these loud mouth attention seekers crying against Nepotism practice what they preach first.

@bold: neither of them has had their sibling pushed to be a star- I haven't heard of PC's bro in BW, nor of Kangu's sis, Anushka's bro, Yami's sis.
RRR's bro? is he the bespectacled one? Maybe that's the only one that really made something. RR's GF? Pathraleka is not a big star, doesn't get major movies.
Parineeti wasn't pushed by PC- wish she was.. she'd have had a diff career. I feel PC has just friendly advised but let Pari do her own thing.SHe had her career to worry about- why would she give Pari roles when she had problems getting roles herself after the SRK scandal..(since 2013/2014..PC is kinda 'ostracized' right? very few roles given)
SRK hasn't launched his kiddos yet-let's not jump on it yet.

Point is: there's VERY few outsiders.. and most are chosen for looks, or the talented ones get very few chances to succeed.

Already have
Look at 2012
You get yami gautam , good actress with great looks, give a good performance in critically and financially acclaimed Vicky donor.
Get some debut awardds too.
Than you got Alia same year , below average looks with bad performance in critically panned soty.

By any means who would get better films to follow up , Alia in highway (where a fantastic performance by randeep is ignored for a ok performance and highlited as next Meryl Streep ) and big banner film follows , contrast this to yami follow up films after Vicky donor she got only 2 cameos in action Jackson and Badlapur in 3 years.
How would someone skill be perfected without getting work and without working with good directors and have to make do with pulkit samrat movies .

What about Suraj, Athiya, Arjun, Uday, Jacky Bhagnani, Sonam, Jhanvi, etc deserved the big debuts they got? They wouldn't have made through a single audition if not nepotism. I don't have problem with talented star kid's but also I don't want mediocrity served upon us.

But thats what i said ki people who are not not connected were rejected just like abhi, uday, athiya etc., though they get multiple chances...even if the NA winner kangana annoys them with her constant blabbering she will be rejected as well...no matter how great she is and being an outsider...is it that hard to get that ? 😕
