MC Sher aka Siddhanth Chaturvedi overshadows Ranveer big time in GB

I finally watched Gullyboy last night. Thought MC Sher was a real life rapper until i got to know that he is a CA final year student and an actor. I was blown away by his performance. He easily overshadowed Ranveer in the movie and gave a memorable performance. He has become an overnight star. People are giving him much needed credit for the success of GB.

Issi liye shayad leading lady ne aur leading lad ki biwi ne abhi tak praise nahin ki. Aur yahan Big B ne hand written letter ke saath bouquet bhi bhej diya Sher ko.

Do you know a thing? Ranveer himself guided and helped Siddanth alot. If not for Ranveer making him feel comfortable and gave him acting tips suitable for moulding himself for film taking which is new for Siddanth, Siddanth's performance wud not have been the same! Siddanth himself said it is total role reversal and Ranveer is his MC Sher offscreen and it is wierd to act as his mentor to his real mentor in the film. 😆

A lot of people who saw the film said the same thing. I knew this Ranveer can either ham or people just steal the show from him.

Siddhant Chaturvedi was absolutely wonderful as MC Sher. He had the aura, attitude and looks to play the role perfectly. However, it was not SC outshining RS, it was Sher ourshining Murad. That is how the story and characters evolve. And not only with Sher, who he fanboys over, Murad is Moeen's sidekick too. Compared to him, Moeen comes across as a far more confident and strong person. When Murad finds out about him using kids for his drugs business, he protests. But even that protest is not strong enough and Moeen overpowers him easily. At home, Murad cannot and does not resist his father for his abusive behaviour that affects the entire family. Even with Safeena, he is the passive one. It's only towards the end of the film that Murad finally gathers the confidence to do all that he always wanted to. A singularly un-heroic and real character.

I don't know what people are going gaga over? There was not one scene where he did anythibt special or great, what did sidhanf do exactly that people like him? Wave his hand around like a hipster and say eh bhai, bahaut hard hai a million times? That's acting?

Ranveer on the other hand delivered and how. In some scenes he didn't even have dialogues or body language tools - and he acted through his eyes.

There is lot of hidden pathos in Murad's character, how can u even compare them? What is the barometer? One is having a journey of exploring the most odd thing he cud step into and other is a full time pro who is confident. Both played their roles well that too with Ranveer's help thru out and Sid didn't overshadow him. If anyone say that they are less sensitive to feel the emotions and subtlety ie, low at EQ.

You simply didn't understand the movie and the characters.

He was good but Ranveer was better ⭐️⭐️

His character was loud. But he didn't steal the show from Murad which was more of a restrained guy. A one-note character cannot steal a show from a man of multi dimension.
