Is Varun a better actor than Ranveer?

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I find Varun's acting better than Ranveer's. October itself is an example of how subtle and restrained he can be, whereas Ranveer has yet to come up with a performance that good, IMO. I know Ranveer is sweeping all the awards this year but he goes OTT far too often. Varun can tone down where required, as in Badlapur and october.

Thoughts??

For sure. As I said in some other post Ranveer can never do a October without ruining it with his OTT-ness.

Literally everyone, RK, Ayshman, RKR, Varun, Sid, Arjun, Kartik, even Ayush Sharma in this forum 😉 😆

Not in my opinion. Varun has a long way to go and seems to be interested in the masala hero image (Judwaa 2, Coolie Number 2, Street Dancer 3). He was very good in Badlapur, but can't see him even pulling off a Bajirao, Khilji, or Gully Boy (from the promos).

Ranveer was amazing in Lootera, pretty early on. If you remove his OTP offscreen persona, he's a chamaleon in each of his roles. I don't think anyone else can pull off a Khilji, Gully Boy, and Simmba in one year - all totally different characters. Bajirao was also very subdued.

No. And Ranveer has done subtle and restrained in Lootera. Too bad it was very early on in his career and people missed out on it. It was a performance worth accolades. Though I'd say Varun is underrated as an actor too. October deserved better just like Lootera.

No. IMO.

ye comparison topics thoda space out ho jaye toh majaa aa jaye. Very less interval mein too many ho jaye toh not entertaining enough.
