Varun doesn't need to go overboard with his look to prove he is good actor. Ranveer is rather lucky with support he gets from big names despite not being able to prove his consistency. He finally delivered his clean hit on his own with Simmba but that with a director like Rohit Shetty who can use a newcomer and still deliver 100cr film because of his popularity. Varun has never been bashed as a performer by top critics for his massy and commercial outings too. Unlike Ranveer's Kill Dil or Sunday got him bashing from selected critics. The thing with Varun is. He has delivered with mediocre roles like Dishoom or Sui Dhaaga. Goes to show he is able to deliver even if script fails. People bashes Varun for which they bashed Ranveer for before, voice. But one thing is Varun's voice modulation is fine and you how doesn't need to mumble for role like Raghu in Badlapur or Dan in October and deliver clear dialogues unlike Ranveer in Lootera for which many critics even claimed they could barely understand him. As for emoting through eyes, that varun does better than Ranveer. Watch Badri for instance. People overlook it as it's just another Rom-com but his performance is very underrated. Ranveer sure works hard to look a character but I think Varun is a better actor. And if given a chance with more author backed roles. He maybe delivers even more splendid performances like Dan or Raghu

Cheers to ranveer gully boy will be remembered and keeps the buzz around him till next year when 83 releases.
Something I can't say about other actor movies releases and no one cares about the performances of them too.
The only thing I got reminded is when I read on if how underrated and overlooked a performance is by certain actors.
Well and about public response I definetely don't need to mention cause that speaks for itself too 😆

I think Ranveer is more consistent in the roles he's portrayed, I really like him but I think I'd put Varun's Dan above all his performances (I haven't seen Gully Boy yet). I thought Varun was so amazing in October, why isn't he winning awards? I still don't get how Ranveer is getting Best Actor awards for a negative role? Khilji wasn't even grey, it was outright villainish.
