There's tons of better actors than Ranveer.

Ranbir, Vicky, RR, Ayushman.

Varun is not one of them.

No! ... Varun is a decent actor fosho and we have seen that in some of his good movies, but he falters a lot more than Ranveer in many of his movies!

Ranveer is ahead of him NOT only in acting but also in versatility! ... Since Varun started later than RS, he needs time to showcase his versatility ... so he gets a bit of leeway but atm Ranveer over Varun .. [as long RS stays away from histo movies..]

contrary to that, I wish to see RS in more historical movies.

No way you cant compare varun over acting with bajirao lootera dil dakhne do khilji some scenes band baja now gull boy varun cant beat him

They are almost equal, IMO.

My personal favorite Varun roles are - Badlapur and October

My personal favorite Ranveer roles are - Lootera and Dil Dhadakne Do. (so far Gully boy looks good)

They are on par with slapstick comedy. While Varun has more such nonsensical films to his credit, Ranveer performed Simmba with ease. Both have delivered restrained and moody performances. The only place where Varun slightly edges in front of Ranveer is his violent intensity in Badlapur. Some may say Ranveer's Khilji had it - it was too theatrical for me. There was something visceral but real about Badlapur.

Ranveer on the whole has better films though. While something like Befikre was ludicrous, a lot of Varun's films make me give the massive eye roll. The Dulhania series is below subpar.

Varun is by far ahead by just a hair or few. Ranveer has the talent to match him or even move ahead - IF he realizes that its talent not attention that matters in the long run.
