He's going to be extremely protective and possessive too. He knows she is naive and too innocent for her own good, so he will have to be cruel to be kind.

I want to see if he consciously makes the decision to challenge her in order to protect her from Kaushalya, or to prove the truth to her, or if he does it because subconsciously he doesn't want his wife to go. Now he can justify this tactic to own his mind with logic such as "Kaushalya is dangerous" and use it as an excuse to keep Guddan from leaving his house whereas the real fact is that he just wants to find some way to control the situation and always have her in his sights once the 3 days are up. .
