Series of Events that led to leap debacle *Updated*

This has been such a convoluted set of events, sometimes it's hard to keep it straight but I'm going to try and list out why exactly this is such a mess so that it's not skewed by other tangents. Helps me remember why I'm extra disgusted with the makers.

1) Redux happens. Gul pitches it as a Shivika story, an ode to the fans. Lol

2) Within 2 weeks, it becomes obvious that redux has not been thought through and has poorly sketched characterizations for Shivika.

3) Makers amp up the creepy quotient with a Daksh track. Still doesn't help much. Overall story remains flat

4) Makers decide to bring in "freshness" with jaadugar Mohit, Nancy and helicopter. That fails spectacularly. Meanwhile fans continue to bicker about whether or not Redux should continue since the Shivika story is a mess here. Makers do golmol and play coy. Nobody mentions the Awasthi angle, claims this is a new season.

5) Gul claims redux has been extended on fan demands. Lol

6) Makers decide to do a random 5 year leap for more "freshness". Shivaay is made a murderer, given a PTSD track. That doesn't work much either.

7) Random tadi Scenes are added in for redux Shivika as lollipops for fans without any cohesive narrative. So whole thing still remains aimless.

8) SPA 2018 happens. NM-SC clean sweep it again. Everyone hails Shivika again. Fans and actors all seem happy.

9) Gul suddenly starts claiming that show has to take a leap Cuz SC doesn't want to play a mom. Confusion ensues. Rumors swirl of SC quitting the show over this issue.

10) SC clarifies that the makers have taken a call to take a leap and remove her character along with the rest of the old cast. The mom angle was just a few short weeks but leap was inevitable. Gul gets proven a liar yet again.

11) Despite fan backlash, outrage, trending etc, leap still happens. SP starts a deluge of promotion for Dhinku with Dhinchak overload everywhere.

12) Harneet blocks the whole Shivika fandom on social media en masse. Even ppl who never said anything to her. Lol

13) Leap begins by riding on Shivika FBs for the first two weeks. Lol. New fresh story appears to be reboot of Ruvya story + Castle copy. And as expected, it's mostly rejected except for solo fans watching.

14) SP continues promoting heavily. They even change the main montage and show intro blurb on Hotstar to a DIB montage. As if to erase any memory of the last 2.5 years of what fans were attached to.


That's about all I can remember as the highlights. Cuz the mess still continues. Lol but this was the background for why fans are so disgusted with just how much the channel and PH have disrespected them.

This ofcourse is seperate from the fact that DIB in of itself is a very poorly cast and executed show. That just hastens it's demise. Along with the fact that makers have mismanaged this from a long time back. DIB is now just the stinky cherry on top of the mega turd the makers made out of IB.

Just wanted you to add how despite the writer is a lost case, people did give trps as from Shanno's entry, shivika's wedding, Biwi No1, Daksh' exposure, SSO's apology, SSO-Annika scenes till end of August- all weeks of august had trps above 2.0.

and yes the famous illogical unnecessary track of jadugar was given- which didnt attract viewers at all. still with Majnu Singh Awara and final climax shivika's reunion- trps did again climb up

then leap was given- which again viewers never expected and then the downfall started.

still mind you despite the whole protest- shivika's magic again did it's work and trps again increased to above 2.0 for the wedding track with family and Dadi's romance too got trps😆

this all shows how everytime shivika did save the pathetic tracks of the writer/maker and carried the show. even the old cast had its own charm in a way.

anyway from your points about pathetic plots and added with what i wrote above- i wonder why exactly should fans have any respect, love or should even support the makers and channel😆

do makers/channel think that viewers are that dumb or what😆

Point 13: you missed kal ho na ho, Tu Khiladi main Anari, and original shivika and Obros too😆

Lol see I didn't make this thread to point out whether or not Shivika brought TRPs. I'm just pointing out the overall mess this has been since redux.

The few random tracks of Shanno or biwi no.1 barely lasted 2-3 epis. Overall story remained shit.

Matlab just watch Even the worst epi of RU IB and that had more of a flow than the randomness of Redux. That's my point. The contrast is obvious.

The downfall started with redux only. Cuz the writers only ever sketched out original Shivika clearly. Redux had nothing but NM SC trying to hold together a mess that was trying to shortchange them.

But in all this i still want to know why leap happened in this way. What was the need of disrespect Shivika, SC and fans. Why they tried to washed away the memory of Shivika and SC to start the leap? Why they were so insure that they stopped promoting IB from last 2 months and in last two promos SC was not there. Was it really needed to ruin already built Rome to make new Rome, in which they completely failed. New Rome could have made with the end of old Rome with good memories and more respect for fans and FL.

She blocked the very same ppl who had blindly praised her shitty writing in redux also. lol the moment they dared criticize this ghatiya DIB, madam had to block to protect her fragile ego. Lol sach handle nahin hota na.

That remains the million dollar question. Why did the makers do the leap in this especially cruel way? We get that most leaps are built on characters dying etc. but even then this decision seems very haphazard.

Only explanation is that Gul wanted to cut costs and to save face for herself, she blamed SC and fans instead rather than admit that she can't afford to pay SC her price anymore and needs her to leave so show can run on low budget.

Lol oh that's another thing that will always amuse me. Redux started as a supposedly Shivika story but goodbye videos were suddenly about super six? Haha these random flips to making it a group show jab mood bane, the inconsistency in messaging is also part of IB's ultimate demise.

I'm not saying whole cast didn't deserve a goodbye but makers were just forever confused about the perception they wanted to project. Majority audience always called this the Shivika show but makers ping ponged b/w riding on Shivika and then trying to claim super six are on equal footing. Lol

Oh well, that's a moot point and a problem that never found a solution since merger.
