I think they Hotstar will eventually split this from the main IB episodes and maybe, in a few years, we might get a soft reboot / sequel with the same actors like with Iss Pyaar Ko Kyaa Naam Doon.

The only reason why IB is so popular online is because people are rewatching the Shivaay / Annika story not watching the new one. Star Plus has definitely realised this as the new actors / characters aren't even being mentioned!

Basically, what I understood is before they got to "1. the show shud have ended ! So it had extended run of 9 months or say 200 episodes. Hope everyone involved made their money cause in the "real world being someone s fan doesnt bring you dough!

No other show has faced this cuz the original characters were always on the montage, no matter what...till the end...only in the case of IB have they erased any sign of the original cast/synopsis and still expect ppl to connect and watch online😕😆

The smart thing would be to split the two phases, as you said...but SP isn't always known for doing the smart thing😆

QH montage did change after the leap.

IPK had seasons 2 and 3 (2 had a new cast while 3 had Barun) as well as a sequel to the original.

Basically when Hotstar / Star plus realises that it's overseas subscribers (who pay 5-10 times more than Indian subscribers) prefer the original Ishqbaaz then we will also get a sequel.

The original Ishqbaaz generated a lot of money for the channel in terms of ads and product placements compared to the new version which is why the older version looks more expensive. There will definitely be a sequel starring Surbhi and Nakuul. Just have to be patient.
