but this serial exposed her limitation when doing complex and challenging scenes..just shivering is not women in trauma..she should be happy with doing just romantic and love dovy roles-rather than -trying complex and challenging roles where she really lacks in acting..

P.S - it is just my opinion on DD acting and this is certainly not bashing or mocking OF DD..

All three deserve better honesty. And DD is a lovely person I'm sure she'll get something better. I despise Nandini and I'm not a fan of DD's acting but I would never bash DD for a character especially when I don't even know the woman personally.

I wish them all good luck and happiness.

Agreed! The moment DD leaves this **** show and grabs another show with an actual positive role, we'll live in the present of seeing her in a positive role, and this show and her role in it will feel like a gloomy past. All this crap she is getting for playing this role will automatically stop just as it does for actors who play negative roles in shows. I've seen it happen quite a few times. We humans are predictable here.

Nope i disagree with you she did her part very well whatever shit she was given in name of script .She portrayed pain of domestic violence victim very well .And many members also agree to it .I agree her character was quiet irritating and crying all the time .What complexity you are talking about does nandini do anything beyond crying and crying. She didn't shiver or tremble in emotional scenes after revelation because it's director who decides what he want from actors .And hv you seen some anxiety patients they shiver and tremble worse than nandini use to do.She is shown weak and submissive who lacks confidence and if it was not director call to tremble she would not hv done it because I hv followed her work from long time she never shiver or tremble in emotional scenes. And this my opinion i m not forcing it on you .Respect your opinion but will agree to disagree with you.

Unlike this forum Drashti and producers knows how this industry works. This is tv industry and this industry knows when show or any role flops only actor is not responsible for it.In ITV industry characters are more important than actors. So how the character is written and presented is most important .Nandini is shit character written by Gajra even madhuri have played the characterseven then nandini wouldd hv been hatedtlike this only.So i don't think it's going to effect DD in anyway.Secondly,if she gets to play negative or grey roles after this show many of her fans will be more than happy because it will be challenge for her to play such characters and she will fo something different.

If I were DD I would pat my back and laud myself for maintaining my dignity and class despite certain fanatics making obscene remarks on me every single day trying to effect me while I keep maintaining my class by continuing to focus on my work and be the lovely human that I am encouraging and supporting all my co actors regardless. There is a reason she has survived here for 11 years when many of her contemporaries have been washed out. Dedication to the craft and professionalism are the two most important reasons of her survival.

It's sad because DD probably thought she was stepping out of her comfort zone by taking on this character since she's done the same types of bubbly/happy characters through out...perhaps she thought she'd break the mold and do something different but it definitely didn't work out for her

This might make her fear taking a risk again with a challenging role and she'll - once again - typecast herself into the same wide-eyed/bubbly/jumpy female lead roles she's been doing

I wish there were more scope for female leads to do well written grey characters like Maya in Behyahd...these kinds of roles would challenge those actresses willing to take up the task and do something different on ITV but it's unfortunate because the indian audiences want to keep seeing the same saas-bahu nonsense and it seems that ITV writers don't know how to writer anything else sensible beyond this concept

DD has been nailing her scenes right from the miscarriage episodes. I still remember how those episodes gave me goosebumps with her acting. It is just that since Nandini is being hated upon every little action of DDs is being dissected under a microscope.

Yeah...she definitely would have taken on the role because it's not a typical one but the execution was totally flawed.

Regarding Drashti being typecast into bubbly/jumpy females...that probably won't happen IMO because it hasn't happened before either - Muskaan/Geet had some similar aspects but they were done very differently and no one really draws a comparison there. Her other characters like Madhubala or Naina had very mature undertones, and were in a totally different zone. This show wasn't bubbly or jumpy either from any angle, 😆 in fact it was a very subdued (and initially submissive due to the abuse) one, whereas the previous character she played in Pardes wasn't wide-eyed either but rather was a very assertive one who empowered the male lead to stand on his feet and took revenge after his death.

You are totally right though that there's very little scope to do WELL WRITTEN grey characters...and that's unfortunate.
