Rumour: Ranveer and Akshay to appear on Koffee with Karan!

The Big Daddy casting by Koffee with Karan's suave host, the irrepressible TV impresario and prolific filmmaker Karan Johar himself, will happen in Mumbai's YRF Studios tomorrow. And getting onto the couch for KJo in the sixth season of the popular talk show for Star World, in which he gets up close and personal with celebrities and discusses their lives, is Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. But, here's the delicious add-on. PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that joining Akshay in a casting coup will be Bollywood's perennially hot and exciting flavour the mercurial actor Ranveer Singh!

The new season of Koffee with Karan, which begins on October 21 with Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt gracing KJo's couch, has a new set with stylish lighting and decor. The couch is bigger this time, it's blue in colour, and the background is pink, which will create an electric vibe when the show goes live. "The first cup of Koffee is all about girl power! an exuberant Karan tweeted, welcoming the two actresses. The second pairing already confirmed is the father-daughter jodi of Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan whom Karan found "hilarious and supremely bright and sensitive. And now he's got his hands full tomorrow shooting with Akshay and Ranveer for the third episode.

Both, Akshay and Ranveer have been on Koffee with Karan before. Ranveer first appeared with Anushka Sharma in February 2011. He then came with his Gunday co-star Arjun Kapoor and casting director Shanoo Sharma in December 2013. But perhaps Ranveer's most outrageous appearance was with Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in November 2016. Whereas Akshay appeared solo the first time on the show in January 2014 and then gave Karan and his fans the treat of their lives when he came with wife Twinkle Khanna the second time in November 2016 and serenaded her with her favourite song Strangers in The Night.

It will be an electrifying synergy of, well, high energy tomorrow at YRF Studios when Karan gets Akshay and Ranveer together. KJo is known for inexhaustible reserves of energy himself and Akshay and Ranveer both think the other actor has incredible energy. Karan is currently working with both the actors. With Akshay, he's making Kesari and with Ranveer, he's co-producing Simmba with Rohit Shetty. Ranveer is a huge Akshay fan. His favourite fanboy moment came in the mid-1990s when he visited the sets of Mohra where Akshay was shooting the rain dance song Tip Tip Barsa Paani with Raveena Tandon. Ranveer shared the picture he got as a little boy with his superstar idol on social media.
