Okay. I know this ain't exactly related to Bollywood but I gotta gush so bear with me 😆 I don't know if you guys follow this amazing guy called Vijay Deverakonda. He has been part of some really good films in the recent past (most notably Arjun Reddy which is being remade in multiple languages including Hindi). And the guy is a certified heartthrob 😆 He acts well (was kickass in Arjun Reddy, endearing in Pelli Choopulu and brilliant even in a cliched film like Geetha Govindam), looks good, is incredibly charming, has truckloads of sway on and off screen, chooses quirky films and is self made. Telugu industry is the most close knit and nepotistic industry out there and this guy has managed to make it and almost attained superstar status within a relatively short period of time. At this point, he is arguably the most exciting star down South. And I really do think the guy has it in him to become a pan India star. The only problem I see is his accent (he has the typical Hyderabadi accent) which could be an issue when he tries to speak other languages but that apart he really is the complete package 😆
I came across this recent interview yesterday and it has only managed solidify my crush (and prompted me to make this topic 😆)

His answers on his struggle, nepotism, how success has changed him (I found that response to be incredibly honest- he said the more you are successful and the less dependent you are on people, the more opinionated you can be so yes success has changed me). Anyway, to cut the long story short, I think Vijay is incredible. He is that rare outsider who just manages to make it out of blue surprising everyone out of their wits with his charm and choice of films (almost reminds me of SRK but he is obviously not there yet and they are different people). So anyone else here who can't get enough of this guy? 😆

Arjun Reddy was performance of a life time but he fell flat in Mahanati especially when compared with Dulquer. He was the weakest link in the movie.

ME ME ME!
He is traveling at a super jet speed towards the superstardom, I mean the proper wala superstardom not the one like Charan, Allu Arjun kind of heroes are said to have...Vijay with just 3 films has kind of dethroned all of them...Its hard to believe that just last year he was a nobody and made fun of by the then so called arrived stars(Nani was one of them btw...)Just watch this video, I mean its so so satisfying to see how Vijay is the one having the last laugh there...

You are right though about his language being a big and only concern for him...In fact he had lost out on the Gemini Ganeshan's role in Mahanati just because of his accent as he had only 15 days to prepare for the role and it seems he felt he wouldn't be able to get rid of his Telangana accent and prepare for the role in such a short time and hence he had to settle for another smaller role...

He is young, suave, super talented, self made and despite all that he keeps himself down to earth and humble...What is there to not like about him?!.:)

Haha he is amazing both on and off screen. Sounds grounded and is quite honest. Check out that interview I posted. Even Bharadwaj Rangan was floored 😆

Well the role was half-baked and the wig was super distracting. Its unfair to compare his performance with Dulquer who had the better written and more prominent role with more shades to it. For the record I really like Dulquer but Vijay is the better actor IMO. I don't think Dulquer can pull off an Arjun Reddy the way Vijay did (no one can IMO) but I can actually see Vijay pulling off a lot of Dulquer's films quite well.

Oh tell me about it. I actually like both Rana and Nani but Vijay is quite something man. I mean just look at him 😆 I recently saw the teaser of the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy and it almost hits you how incredible Vijay was in the film. Shahid is a really good actor but I don't think even he can pull off the character the way Vijay did. He really is that once in a generation rare talent who just sweeps you off your feet <3
