But why a pre-nup at all? Why not nip this thought at the genesis of this conversation? When Reeva brought it up, can he not say that "what we would never want for our own daughter, we have no right whatsoever to impose on someone else's daughter?" If you say it was his desperation to be with Palak, then all the more reason he should not have relented to this high-and-mighty attitude of his family. What about just saying ... "I am happy to wait for your consent, but I am not going to put the person I love through this BS" ....if VP and son had a mishap with a certain Geeta 20 years back, the world is not obligated to pay for their mishaps.
And which mother will not want to seek an out of such a weird legal clause when she was not even aware of it? Which mother would want a daughter stuck in a family with legal clauses?
Manjeet may have totally lost her marbles now after a lot of provocation and she is wrong in forcing her daughter to go through this crap, but she had not done anything wrong uptil before this point, was even ready to forget her own insults because Palak was in love with Rithwik. She may be loud and not so worldly but she is not the reason for this entire heartbreak ... the Noon ego sitting behind new-founded money is.
