🤣 🤣 🤣

No wonder Alexander was annoyed at Chanakya and said he had the same tendency as Porus to go matrabhoomi, matrabhoomi all the time.

Very interesting scenario, if this were to happen. You are right, Porus is nowhere near that point where he can learn to appreciate Alexander's principles and respect him. Well, we'll see a few more sneak attacks before that happens. Perhaps finding Barsine and Co in good health and well-fed will change his mind. 😆

I found it laughable when Porus was telling Ambhikumar that he understood Alexander's mindset very well, because that's not true at all. He has no respect for Alexander whatsoever and swings between being overconfident and complacent. His actions have now gotten Ambhikumar in major trouble. For all you know, Alexander could have killed him right there and then. 😕

If Alexander does indeed show up at PR asking them to release his mother so that she can in turn release Porus' mind, I would be curious to see how he does it. Because no matter what happens, and how unhappy he is with his mother's activities, I don't see him saying or doing anything disrespectful towards her in public, especially not in enemy territory.

She is bound to tell her son that it would be the biggest mistake to reverse the black magic, to which we'll get more lines from Alexander about seene pe waar, and then she'll remind him of the fact that Porus launched sneak attacks, kidnapped her, etc. Should be an interesting exchange if that were to happen and, if presented well, could give us the first all-round face off with all parties. I want to see Chanakya's face at that moment. Actually, he's the one she should be targeting with her black magic, not Porus. It would be much more effective in the long run because Porus is bound to run out of steam at some point.

More importantly though, how would Alexander balance his rage at discovering the kidnap of his mother with the need to do what is right and have Porus relieved from the effects of the black magic? It is perhaps this principled approach that will result in some people at PR respecting him, if not Porus. You can bet there will be an exchange between Anusuya and him, where he will hear some more lectures and might lecture her in return. 😆

I think it is at least likely.

There has to be something cataclysmic to change their mutual hatred into hostility tempered with respect that could, after the battle, turn into friendship. Otherwise, the present state of their relationship cannot end in any kind of friendship.

Alexander already respects Porus for his courage and his shrewdness. It is Porus who has yet to recognise Alexander's innate sense of honour and integrity.

Alexander will never want it said that when he conquers Bharat, as he is sure he will, it was possible only because of black magic.

Good night.

Yes, they truly were glorious phases. I feel as if the crew filming the Macedonian segments and the battle sequences were at another level altogether. The camera angles, lighting, etc. everything was better. The CVs could have shown us some interesting conflicts between Alexander and his generals around battle tactics. We saw some of that with Cleitus in Faras, but this track was never picked up. I also think it could have been the same crew filming some of the shots in Thailand - they had a different look and feel.

And this Macedonian army looks so timid that I can't imagine them mutinying and insisting on going home.

I am hating all this use of dark filters to fake the nighttime effect. You can't see people's facial expressions very well. If Rohit didn't have green eyes, we'd have missed out on a lot of his emoting "in the dark". 😡

I am also getting a little tired of the poor use of VFX and switching between the beach and the swimming pool to stand in for the Jhelum river. I know there are budgetary limitations but it doesn't mean they can't at least be consistent.

Lastly, I love Rohit's work but his hair is now starting to distract me, as is the obvious color fading from his jewelry. Can we please send him or the production team a special request? I have given up on seeing those Macedonian curls again but they can at least tame his hair, give it some hair mask treatment or something. He's started to pin his hair up now underneath the crown - he needs a haircut ASAP.

If I knew his address I would send him some products as well as a good stylist. All this salt water and air, rain, and chlorine from the swimming pool, in addition to the hair dye, has destroyed the poor guy's hair. I won't be surprised if he shaves it all off or opts for a crew cut after the show ends.

So you are telling me our Maharaj Puroshottam is planning on to go do some fishing on Jhelum river ? Sounds nice but no. Episode skipped.
Aunty I am very pleased too with the paucity of personal life and matters on Alexander's side. Eventhough in the earlier era, we got sufficient glimpses of them, they were kept intriguing, succinct and pivotal in most of it's parts that you are just drawn into them. It would have been nice if they had put on the same quality on PR's side especially since that's what viewers are going to get to watch the most but alas. It truly felt like what @Inlieu described as if we were watching two completely different shows when we would watch the Macedonian and Bharat's side. It's sad that we really fast forwarded those glorious and great phases to reach where we are today.

That was another set of CVs. The current lot have not watched the old episodes, but only received a summary briefing.😉

I agree it was a very boring episode. And what on earth did they mean by Alexander almost died when the bridge exploded? 😲

He nearly died of drowning when he jumped into the river to look for Porus, which was not part of Porus' plan anyway. What a load of rubbish! 😡

You are asking for too much. All that would call for intelligent, imaginative script writing, which seems to be in short supply.

The army was, by this time, only part Macedonian. There were Persians, Scythians, and God knows who else.

The Macedonians did NOT mutiny. They begged and pleaded and prayed, and Alexander delivered an impassioned speech, urging them to march onwards with him. The impasse continued till Alexander retired to his tent.

He sulked there for three days, like his hero Achilles did during the Trojan war. Then he reemerged, to the enormous relief of his generals and the men. Various bad omens were identified and cited as the reason for Alexander to turn back from the Beas. The troops cheered in gratitude and rushed to kiss his hands.

But this was only the beginning of a long calvary, especially the trek through the Baluchistan desert. Where Alexander would not drink the water that was not enough for anyone but himself.

All that you have said here is valid, kid, but so is my core idea that I did not flesh out.

Which was that Alexander would find out what his momma dearest is up to, and would put a stop to it.

How he locates her and how he stops her shenanigans , in private with her, which is the most likely, or in a quadripartite blow up - for Porus would be out of the running - remains to be seen. If he doesn't expose the black magic angle - he carefully avoided doing that in the scene where he saves the life of Arridaeus - then the credit for saving Porus' life won't come to him in the same way or to the same extent.

It would be a tough scene to write. Let us see.

Laachi's premonition is a sure fire indication that something WILL go wrong, obviously because of the black magic. Personally, I am eager to see what exactly it does.

The net business is ludicrous. The CVs IQ is about 90, and they assume that our IQ is less than 80. And the far too dark filters are the pits!😡

I don't know what will happen, but this vachan business is like measles, it seems to be catching!😉

By way of ample precaution, let me suggest a new name for you (not that I know the current one!). Olympander. Good, no?

@bold, yes it would.
I need to keep my optimism in check. 😆

By Macedonian, I meant Alexander's army in general. I should have been more specific.
