What is Anika fighting for?

I suppose it's a rhetorical question in some ways. I'm still trying to figure out the answer myself.

For most of the episode Anika was fighting to not give in to a shaadi like this...then she was in a zombie state while the rituals were completed...but something changed in her the moment the last ritual of sindoor was completed...suddenly she started looking at Shivaay differently and boy did that moment grate on me.

Frankly it's way too demeaning as a woman to watch someone getting FEELS out of shaadi rituals with a man who just put her through all this...blind glorification for TRPs aside, that was a pretty low moment.

That moment seemed to change Anika and suddenly she came back to life and started viewing him as her husband...you could see the shift in her eyes only...after everything he did, simply cuz he put a sindoor/MS on her, nothing else mattered but that he was now her husband. Wow.

Then I paused for a moment and reflected...what are they really trying to show here? Is it just simply obvious regressiveness to appeal to TRP junta who feels shaadi ho gayi toh pati parmeshwar? Or is there something more to this?

Was that moment supposed to show that the moment Shivaay bound her to him, SHE would then become the one to fight for their relationship? Cuz that is what shifted dramatically there...it's like something got activated from slumber, a light went on inside Anika and she was looking at him differently...why? Because the very next moment he walked away and totally negated the very existence of the shaadi...but she instead started fighting for it ACTIVELY...I'm gonna try and keep her mega cringe-inducing sindoor/MS gawaah hai lines aside for a while and try to focus on the essence of what was happening...she was fighting tooth and nail for their relationship there despite all the ugliness simply cuz he bound her to him.

Is this the spin here on? Cuz many ppl complained in the past few days that Anika doesn't seem invested in Shivaay in this redux and he's the only one impacted by her marrying someone else...lol well lo and behold now she's fully dived headlong into mutinously claiming a right on him through marriage...and ironically he's the instrument for it.

It's all so twisted that it's hard to sort through and IB isn't meant to leave you with such an ugly feeling inside while watching it, is it? So if I'm getting this right...Shivaay was driven to marry her through a twisted set of emotions driving him...revenge for Priyanka and not wanting her to marry Nikhil...and now that he's married her, he'll be the one turning away but now she will be the one chasing him instead...and that is supposed to prove Awasthi wrong ki no matter what the circumstances, one or the other will keep fighting for them to be bound together😕😆

I will say though that this Anika doesn't automatically become "strong" simply for demanding the rights of a wife from him as he married her...he still took the choice away from her so suddenly "fighting" for the label of a wife won't make her strong...if she was really strong, her life wouldn't hinge on the label of a wife alone...just to prove that she's not his mistress, she doesn't need to prove herself his wife...she should actually be making him pay for his sins...but I guess this is on another track with HS ke different interpretations of "strength".

Again, I don't see this as a sustainable strategy to show Anika running desperately after him to get him to claim her his wife for whatever reason...even if the ultimate goal is to show that she's fighting for their relationship in the face of Awasthi's web, it's a tough sell for Anika's character.

Suddenly shaadi hone ke baad she revived from zinda lash state.😆😕 I don't get this label fixation. Maybe she should realize shaadi as mere label is not worth it at the end. 😕 How she will realize i don't know.

But she trying to prove the marriage I feel is more of a challenge because shivaay said there is no proof. Anika ko prove karne ka shauk hai from daksh fiasco.😆 I don't know if it is claiming rights as wife.

Today's episode was highly confusing. If Anika was so shattered by this forced marriage, then why did she start fighting for it suddenly. And if she has accepted her fate as Shivaay's wife then why was she in a zombie like state dragging her feet all the way. 😕 The forced marriage in season 1 had at least made a little sense in reason. This one is totally mind boggling.
Even Shivaay's side of it was confusing. If the whole point was to defame Anika and show her as his mistress, then he had already done that by stating so in front of Nikhil and his family. Why the added effort to forcefully marry her and then call her his mistress.

Its like HS was so intent on getting wiring the forced marriage that she forgot to write the back story for it.

@bold: Actually I think it's the reverse...Shivaay was the one who broke the MS cuz she CHALLENGED him that he can't deny he's her husband now cuz she has all these proofs😆😆...even him labeling her a R I think came out cuz she kept claiming I'm your wife, you're my husband and talking about janam janam ka rishta.

How I wish it could be about Anika learning to rise above labels of mistress or wife...alas, it's more likely they will make this a "patni ka haq" track only. Even if they wanted to go Patni ka haq route, they should have made it about Anika teaching him a lesson ki you can't just marry someone and walk off...instead this Anika obviously believes in this shaadi completely in an instant simply cuz he bound her to him...she really doesn't care what he said and how it happened...so she is ready to do his seva all her life as his patni now...there is nothing about teaching him a lesson in this for doing all this to her😕😕

LOL I agree it's damn confusing and twisted...cuz HS hasn't written their motivations clearly...this wasn't the problem in the original forced wedding...wahaan it was very clear why Shivaay did what he did.

This time it's twisted around too many issues and the reactions from Anika make it all stranger...even after the way he marries her, her first impulse is to run after him...to instantly walk WITH him as she said...saath chalna hai isko with the man who assassinated her character...lol

Well I guess for Shivaay they wanted to show that he wanted to utterly break, make her cry tears of blood like his sister did...but it doesn't feel convincing in the episode...and even after everything that happened, all Anika could say was I was just trying to help Prinku, you MU-ed me and did itni badi GALTI? lol is this still just a GALTI, Anika? Come on😕

But anyways, this is how this Anika is I guess...quite a magnanimous soul...she's already moved past her own humiliation quite quickly and is focused on the fact that she's married now jaise bhi ho and the impulse is to nibhaao it...it's really sad to see such a pathetic characterization for Anika in this redux.

How I miss my ACTUALLY Khidkitod Anika...just doing token shouting at a few ppl in this redux doesn't make this Anika Khidkitod...she has none of the real strength of the original.

They seem to be trying to spin it as shaadi ho gayi hai toh shaayad puraani Anika ka koi connection aa gaya inside this redux Anika making her feel like his wife who now has to fight for their relationship even if he's denying it...cuz it really did seem like magic how quickly that change came over Anika...lol supernatural touch.

Episode was disgusting and SNS ka chakkar laga ke I can say that I have officially seen it all!!! I mean what are these deviyan ( Gulneet and those chanting about Anika insisting on the validity of her marital status to a Shivaay intent on flicking her off as one does an errant fly is somehow a display of HER strength) smoking?

Anika was freakin having feels after he put vermillion in her hair🤢 A sane woman would never have an immediate reaction such as wanting to stick close to a predatory male who defamed, kidnapped, stalked, assaulted, blackmailed then forcibly married her. A sane woman will kick the perpetrator in the nuts (even after the sadistic act) and ride off on her scooty to the nearest police station and file a complaint along with a restraining order. But I guess the emphasis is on SANE (an anti-thesis of what this redux FL is) and we are also supposed to take into account Anika's love for her behan who despite being a Gundi can't handle a few home-truths. 😡

I can't believe that HS and Gul are promoting this drivel and a section of obsessed junta is lapping it up, giving excuses for both SSO & Anika and promises of a rosy scenario 300 episodes into the future. I mean how in the world can one weave a story out of this without severely compromising the characterization of the show's leads? the characters of the RU had a solid premise of long-term interaction to justify the barbaric anger and subsequent reconciliation. There is zilch to support the current story in AU.

Despite NM-SC acting their a$$ off in today's epi, I actually remained unmoved when it came to both SSO's madness and Anika's tears. No sympathy for both of them. The crappy writing overwhelmed their good performances.

I am not an avid tv watcher and have never kept myself with Gul's shows...I have actually not watched IPK and its subsequent instalments...par IB ke baad toh kaanon ko haath laga liya ke I won't watch any other show from Gul's PH😆 Jab tak Shivika hai I will keep checking up on IB (but not on tv). But such BS regressive content should be reviled and I will always lambaste it😕
