Yes it is over the top acting. The actor looks like an aging chocolate boy, and has been absolutely mis-cast for the role. The character is also written in a weird way: not solid like Papa Hooda, who feels like a 3-dimensional character. You needed a character with less shallow style, but more substance.Those scenes of trying to strangle or shoot Mahi were cringeworthy because we haven't been shown no hint of why he's like that: what vendetta he has against Papa Hooda or Adi.
