has been one of the most anticipated
movies of 2018. The trailer for the movie
released today and has got everyone raving
about the upcoming stars of Bollywood.
While Dhadak marks the debut of Janhvi into
the movies, this is Ishaan's second movie
after Majid Majidi's Beyond The Clouds.
Dhadak is an official adaptation of the
Marathi film Sairat which was set amidst the
background of caste discrimination. Dhadak
is set in Rajasthan and highlights the
budding romance of two youngsters and
the hurdles they go through in their journey
of love.
As soon as the trailer was released,
Twitterati stood divided in their opinions.
While many expressed their love for the
trailer, others instantly compared it to Sairat
and were visibly not very happy with it.
Ishaan and Janhvi's chemistry has everyone
going hearts but amidst this the absence of
any mention of a caste discrimination plot in
the story got everyone to raise their
eyebrows. However, Dhadak does capture
the class angle in the story.
Check out a few reactions here and let me
know which side are you on?

Saw trailer of #DHADAK today & my
word #Ishankhattar & #JanviKapoor
are adding an ooomph factor to the
love story being a hindi remake of
Sairaat !
I loved the "Tu jaane na" English
version sung by ishan! That's
hilarious!

Dhadak isn't going to work I think.
Aisa lag Raha Jhanvi kapoor ko
zabardasti Hindi Bulawayi hai.

Ishaan was amazing in Dhadak trailer
but I honestly felt no emotions from
Janhvi. No expressions and I just did
not connect to her character but
Ishaan definitely stole the show

#Sairat is overrated but raw and
organic #Dhadak is not even
anywhere close to it

Well, Sairat wasn't a masterpiece by
any means, but after watching the
Dhadak trailer I feel Mr. Johar missed
the whole point of the movie which
made it so great. The characters were
ordinary, not pretty, poor rural people
with whom the masses could relate.
This is shite.

#Sairat was overrated #Dhadak will
be too ..but I don't understand the
angle of nepotism and star kids
ruining it tho. As per the song didn't
like it back then and my views for
#Zingat stays the same.

Regional cinema is soulful, it captures
the dialect & earthen humor so well. A
Bollywood remake is almost a parody
by ham actors and a khichdi of local
dialect and Hindi. #Sairat vs #Dhadak
is #Reebok vs #Reebook

At the trailer launch today, Janhvi spoke
about how her mother had always wanted
her to make a debut with a movie like
Dhadak. Janhvi also got emotional while
speaking about her mother and said that
she misses her. "I definitely miss her today"
she said.
Ishaan too spoke about how excited he is to
be a part of such a huge movie and to give
in his best.
