Great post and good thought but honestly, I personally feel that movies or shows just ruin the charm that the book had. You read the book, you feel everything, you are basically living the life of the characters. You see what they see, you feel what they feel and that all without any dramatic effects and all.
I have read few books that were made into movies and am disappointed. I mean, yes, the movies weren't that bad but am disappointed on a personal level because shows and movies will never have the same effect on you if you have read the book.Have you read the fault in our stars? I was so addicted to the book I read it all in just two days. It just felt so real. I had put myself into the skin of the character. And then I watched the movie and no offence - the actors did a fabulous job, it was really an excellent movie but it wasn't the same. And some of the most touching scenes were not even there in the movie. I liked the movie but still it was not the same as reading the book. Even today I open the book and just sometimes read my most favorite part to feel the anticipation again. And speaking of turning books into shows, I would never ever wish any book that kind of Horror. I mean, just look at Indian TV, all the shows. Not even the worst book and worst author deserve that đ¤ŁI once read an article of I-F where they listed shows based on novels and I was like, shit. Feeling pity for the readers who have to bear their favorite books being exploited like this by the trp ridden Indian show business. I would like to give you an example: Yeh Hain Mohabbatein. We can't discuss about the show in here but I feel pity for both the book and the authorđBtw, am not trying to start fan war or something. I know this is a fun post but I just would never wish books to fall prey to Indian showmakers. đ
